Mariota is terrible and should be replaced

He missed some throws NFL QBs have to make. I hate how he lobs deep balls. I don’t know if Tannehill is better but Mariota still has the same flaws. He is who he is and that doesn’t seem to be changing.

That one to Brown, he had to throw falling back as the pass rush ended at his knees. Corey Davis dropped a nice ball that hit him in the hands.

Either he’s not starting QB worthy or someone’s getting into his ear. A 5 yr, starter shouldn’t be playing as poor as he is. Brown’s 47 yarder should have been a TD and MM has missed 2-3 other wide open guys. He’s flat footed and just looks bad.

If Vrabel/Smith are going to persist with Mariota they are going to need to let him use his legs more, a couple of times he has forced horrific throws when he could of taken off and made a decent gain.

Yeah he cannot function as a passer at all.

It's worth noting that Mariota's best throw today has been making sure he got the ball passed the line of scrimmage while falling down.  Everything else has either been too high (vast majority of his passes), underthrown, or basically to Brown or Walker...just not good.  He looks lost in the pocket when the rush threatens and his fundamentals are dog shit.  I saw someone mention that we are winning the game...because of penalties and the fact that their top LT was ejected and Wake injured the replacement.  This game should be on it's way to being over.

Our qb situation is not good. I thought Tannehill would light a fire under Mariotas ass but it hasn’t. If it has it just hasn’t produced any results. I agree with your post Oman EXCEPT the end. Tannehill isn’t clearly better.

To be fair to the GM, you have to see what your qb can do in his 5th year and he did everything to try and create some competition. I expect us to pick a qb with our #1 and potentially trade up for it
