This is why I always prefer an open comp in camp. This should be an open comp. Tannehill has earned it.

Definitely not an open comp.  We will see what kind of leash Mariota has.

Great job manipulating the pocket and perfect throw for the TD.  Only missed a few passes and had two drops.  The long one to Taylor was his worst pass but still could have been caught.  Just looks better.

He hasn't earned an open competition. He deserves to be the starter in large part to Mariota.

Tannehill's performance thus far does have a bit of Mettenberger/preseason to it.

Mariota's performance thus far has a bit of a Jake Locker feel to it

Bad drop by Taylor but it was a worse throw by TH.  Aside from that throw thought Tannehill looked good.

oh yeah Adoree - just awful for a 1st round pick

Whata tougher? One on one coverage, on an island, with a damn fast WR? Or hitting a open WR 5 yards from the LOS?

Completely different scenarios.

Biting on a move is not a foot problem. He got turned around. His foot movement is why he still also had a PD.

He bit on a head fake. It happens.

Butler was a fifth year player who won a SB who was also coached by one of the best staffs and got 10+ a year. Great comp.

It's a foot problem because he panicked and used the wrong technique to try to recover. Playing CB in the NFL is def hard but QB is much harder and the money reflects that. The point here is I'm not making excuses for either while you're bending over backwards to make excuses for one but not the other. It was a bad play and we'll likely see one just like it in the future.

Tannehill has looked ridiculously calm in the pocket.

Great pocket presence so far.
