There were stories of John Riggens and the Hogs consuming mass quantities of beer after practice. No one else was invited.

There probably should be some context to era's of football.  The rules were different - DB's could contact receivers downfield, the route trees were much more limited, much more deep passes (lower % of success).

 

Skill set wise, he was a lot like Marino but in the 60's and early 70's.
