Dems must present a Solid Plan to close the Southern Border--Or lose the election.

IMO, that is the issue they have to deal with.  It has to be a plan with real substance, better yet already passed in the House.  If they sashay around this issue and run on promises of Healthcare and Free Education, I don't think they will arouse enough support to overwhelmingly win the election.  Close, just like in boxing goes to the champ.  Sure, there may be arguments about ballots not counted, lost or destroyed, but to win they have to win big.

Anyway you look at it, we have a crisis at the southern border.  People on both sides at the border are living in bad conditions.  Our side has been labeled an atrocity.  Well, what is the nominee going to do about it?  Are there millions of people living here who just walked in?  What are you going to do?  Where is the legislation you passed?

You can parade rape vics.  You can point out no "tax return after four years."  Hush money to hookers.  Collusion.  Obstruction.  Many of these are impeachable offenses, you didn't impeach.  So, don't be asking the American voters to do it.

I admit to being somewhat of a free thinker, sometimes referred to as a kook.(with 2 k's, not 3)  But I think this is the big issue that has to be faced and there needs to be a clear position.  The latino's called Obama Presidente De Porto.  So this is not a side issue, it an issue that continues to be addressed by the government through stronger and stronger means.  IMO, it would be a poor move politically not to have a clear stance on immigration/the southern border/undocumented residents.

Dems put themselves at risk for ridicule in the last debate by saying they'd give illegals free health care. The moderator asked them to raise their hands to a question that they would look bad to either answer.

The right answer was they would take them out of cages, treat them with dignity and provide them with the basics until they go through the process. Not cage them like Trump.

But that was all out of the window after Trump had his Clan rally in NC.

Now 2020 is about whether or not you want an open racist as the president of the United States

As much as I dislike Trump, it is really hard to get behind Dems. They lack any type of leadership, and are so wishy  washy on so many topics.

I think most people lack understanding of what the repub party is.  The repub party is the rich man's party.  The dems are the working man's party.  The repubs were the liberal party on social issues and conservative on fiscal issues.  The dems supported unions and adequate welfare for God's people who live in America.  Prior to the 1960's, a repub could not win a race for dogcatcher in the south.  Then along came Kennedy who was for equal opportunity for all, including the so-called blacks.  The solid democratic south became the solid red states.

The repubs have not changed.  Obamacare is still in effect.  The biggest legislation DT has passed is the tax cut.  Rich people, the true repubs got the overwhelming best part of that deal.  The solid red south got the least.

But you are 100% right about the dems, more because they are democratic in their process.  When rich people(repubs) argue about dividing up money, the rank and file don't hear the fight.  When the dems fight, it more in the open because they represent many more people--the factions are much more diverse.

Some of the really intelligent people here can probably explain it better.  That's just the basics of what you see.

They lack leadership because there isn’t a leader. That will change as soon as they have a presidential nominee.

The party is diverse running the gamut from liberal to mildly conservative. That is unlike the GOP that walks pretty much in lockstep with the far right Tea Party/Trumpist line. Nothing to do to change that dynamic.

When LBJ cam out behind and pushed the civil rights act in 65, he was warned that it would cost the Democratic party the south for a generation or more, he said he was well aware of that but he felt it was the right thing to do and that it had to be done to finally fulfill what had been promised for decades. In the early 60s, there were still county clerks running for office in the deep south under the promise that not one black voter would be allowed to register to vote.

I think the dems and America needs a centrist candidate that represents the real dem party.  DT is a smart guy and he's best fighting with a sharpe tongue that slashes his opponent and defines him at the same time.  It was "little Mario" before it was" little rocket man."  If the dems rightfully run on condemnation of him suggesting American citizens sitting in the house as elected official be put out of the country it's a winner, but that doesn't need to be the largest part of the attack.  If it is, he will respond by running against the picture below.  He'll box them into just representing people who are not running.

What is the dem position on the border and illegals?  Trump says they are rapist, murderers and disease carriers.  They have to make a stance on the immigration from the south.  Will it alienate latino voters?  Yes.  But even they know the open border is a big problem.  Yes, we are open to and invite people from all over the world, but an hassidic dressed in black w/locks is not getting elected to the presidency.  Immigrants who cling to the religions that ran them out of their homelands are not good poster faces.  Trump will put the picture below on the dems poster and on a lot of them, he's only putting the lady with her head covered.

America is about separation of church and state.  We don't have priest sitting in congress.  There are no Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish or any other religion in the congress dressed in religious identifying clothing until now.  The people of her district don't have a problem, so welcome to congress.  But the presidential race is a national election, nationally highly religious people have an uphill battle.  If the dress up in religious attire, the job gets even harder.

The Republicans have moved the "center" to their side. Any centrist will be little more than an acquiescence to the political atmosphere.

This isn't about Democrats or Republicans... at this point it's about addressing corruption in politics before it's too late. We need to modernize our government.

That's a tough sell, considering the number of Dems who are peddling Socialism as the answer.

Far too many of them have fallen off that cliff over on the extreme left.

It's not a national election, not even close.  It's really comes down to about 6 states and maybe even just one.

Trump could theoretically lose the popular vote twice as big, 6 mill or so votes and still win the election by a handful of electoral votes
