Are TV screens getting too good?

Recommended Posts

I have recently noticed more bumps, pimples and skin fissures in the faces of actors and actresses.  The small screen has always thrived on showing thin, beautiful people in leading roles.  Now the TV is showing what used to be hidden by make-up.  Is this good or bad?

Most of you guy’s LCD TVs are dogshit with bad black levels and you’ve probably got it on torch mode.

It's gotten to the point where people now watch porn at home instead of going to the local porno theater.  Whatever happened to the good ole days?

Eventually it's going to be so hi-def that the porn star's gonna be sucking your dick in the movie.

Brave New World, indeed.

I wonder how many people leave their display on the default settings with the brightness turned all the way up.

That's "torch mode".

Often people who pay for expensive calibrations wind up not liking them, because they are so used to a jacked up picture, they think accurate, true-to-life colors and picture realism doesn't look good to them.

Lots of pent up urges to be let loose.

Sometimes realism doesn't come across that well. At least not for the purpose of keeping up with what's actually happening on screen.

Exhibit A: The Long Night.
