StephenIsLegend
Definitely buying it for the first time in three years. And the ratings system changes a little each year to try and create a better disparity between the good and bad players. 74 is actually pretty good for a rookie on IR. And mid-to-lower 70s is also good for a second round WR. Generally, WR in the first are low to mid 80s, with more emphasis on being low.

In theroy an average player would be an overall 50 but its just like video game reviews anything less than 8/10 or 80% is bad.

So a great player close to 100% would be twice as fast, twice as strong, have twice the instincts? Saying 50% should be average is without any merit at all. These are all professional players. They aren't comparing NFL players to HS players. So there is no "theory" that justified 50% unless you want to compare a Jr. High player to a pro-bowl player. Yes an average OVR should be 50 based on a 100 point scale. Seems like common sense to me. So to answer your question yes if one player is a 50 ovr and one is a 100 ovr that player should be twice as good. Just like now a 12 ovr should be 5 times as bad as a 60 ovr, which it is. I'm not going to argue over your arbitrary argument. In short the numbers could be anything you want them to be. So why did you say anything in the first place? heyitsmeallen
The reason why they seem low is because Madden is revamping the rating system to make superstar players stand out more.

Speaking of ratings make sure you dont run with Lorenzo White. His Ball Carrying (Ha got em!) is like a 12. Fumbles every third time he carries the ball.
