For the majority of their careers, these hard working civil servants have been apolitical serving Democrat and Republican presidents without any issues. Along comes this buffoon and on a weekly basis they are constantly thrown into situations where they are having to react to this administration's incompetence.

The impact to basic federal government management has been substantial. Perhaps the biggest is the move of the agriculture department from DC to a yet determined spot in Kansas. There’s a real concern that they will experience a serious brain drain from capable, mission focused scientists who won’t make the move.

President Trump on Thursday retreated from his plan to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census, effectively conceding defeat in a battle he had revived just last week and promised to continue despite recent legal defeats.

Instead Trump said he is ordering every federal agency to give the Commerce Department records on the numbers of citizens and noncitizens, including databases from the Homeland Security Department and the Social Security Administration.

So.....They are going to share the data they already accumulated. Supposedly, this was the approach that was recommended to Wilbur Ross, but to appease Trump, they went down in flames with this census question.

Any competent data scientist would have recommended a data lake as a central repository to house the data dumps from the different agencies. But a data lake concept isn't red meat for his base.
