Mariota certainly more clutch than VY.  Mariota went out and won his first playoff game while VY threatened to quit.

Faint praise, VY is the biggest quitter in NFL history

Bottom line is spare QBs often have lots of comebacks, that’s a team stat

He also has an overall losing record

fuller is a great compliment to Hopkins and Hopkins is friggin insane.

Regardless of his quarterbacking skills Watson has the ability to consistently make big plays. Which puts him ahead.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WatsDe00/red-zone-passing-plays/2018   8 of the 20 TD’s were to Hopkins.  The same number that Mariota had in total

Watson amazingly puts up good numbers with terrible pass blocking

His ability to scramble is both impressive and detrimental to their offense.  If he can stay healthy and has WRs that can fight to get open, he'll continue to put up good numbers.  He's not a good passer but with the way the game is built, he really doesn't have to be if he can stay healthy with that play style.  He basically just runs around and waits for Hopkins or Fuller to get open, knowing no one can cover those guys for very long.

He's nowhere near as good as Russell Wilson but with Hopkins upright, and an effective run game, he'll always be able to put up pretty good numbers.

Cam is the best example of this even though he has tried to morph into more of a pocket passer the last few years. I think he was more successful over a longer period of time due to his sheer size to go with his athleticism but he is probably a little better passer then Watson as well to go along with a slightly better Oline. But his body is breaking down big time now.

It was more of a comment about VY than Mariota.

Take it to the 2nd half of the podcast.

What’s the gist? I tried popping around but don’t have the time to listen to a long Colts centric podcast.

A few is the Colts haven't scored on the Jags like 6 QTRS, like how the Titans haven't beaten Luck in 11 games.  AFC south is underrated because of no history in the playoffs even though all 4 teams have won a playoff game the last 4 yrs.  They gave the Titans the least amount of respect.

They went into great detail about matching up with the Jags and Texans and then literally laughed when barely mentioning the Titans and said of course they can't shut down the Colts.

Certainly the truth with Luck.

It's interesting to read the various opinions on Fuller, Hopkins and Watson.

I believe the Titans' WR corps is deeper than the Texans However, when Fuller is healthy, he has Desean Jackson type talent. Fuller has played 11 games with Watson and in those games he has 45 REC, 782 YD, and 11 TD.

Hopkins is a great WR and he is targeted over 150 times per season, but to think that any QB can feed him the ball is not true. In his one year with Osweiler, he posted the fewest yards, TDs and receptions of his career. He didn't even crack 1000 yards. With Watson as his QB, he's had career highs in TDs, YDs and receptions. So, you can definitely see Watson's play has also helped his stats and game.

With Watson, people either under rate him and think he's RGIII or over rate him and think he's a top 10 QB. He's a young QB learning on the fly. Like many young QBs, he has to get better at reading defenses, getting rid of the ball and protecting himself. By all accounts, he's a football junkie who studies and work hard. I personally don't care about his first down, finger celebrations, but to think he simply is running around then heaving passes to Hopkins is incorrect. Considering what Houston has at the other WR spots, who else should he throw to or trust? When you take into consideration Fuller has only played in 30 out of 48 games in his career, Hopkin's targets are in line with Mike Evans, Julio Jones, Mike Thomas and other top WRs.

Look at how clutch Jake Plummer was.  Mariota is him without the sexual harassment allegations.

"And with the second pick in the NFL draft the Tennessee Titans select....."

If it wasn't for Reggie Wayne at this years draft that would be the #1 ass fucking on national TV in recent history.

I like Fuller just fine.  But I think there is a reason why his production triples with Watson at QB.  I get the sensation that Fuller is overrated and Watson is severely underrated by people on this board.  He makes as big an impact on his offense as any QB in the league.
