Its ok Bud! You're forgiven.

And half the board thinks him not playing last year shouldn’t have been a big deal.

Damn shame he was such a freaking diva.

It's going to be interesting to see how he does with Brees.

But I agree with your assessment of his time in N'ville.

And that's kind of sad.

If you look at the threads when he left, nobody was saying he was important to the team.

It was all “ he was an afterthought!” “TT is easily replacing him! “. “ better off without him” etc..

this is was a GIANT loss. One of the 5-6 best players on the team going into last season. The 2nd best offensive player last year when Delanie went down.

In 2016 when Matthews first joined the team he had 65 catches for nearly 1000 yds and 9 TD, 2017 he had 53 catches for 800 yds and 4TD then for the 2018 season he had 3 catches and was eventually let go.

Matthews was a big upgrade over Justin Hunter at WR

For 2016/2017 Matthews had 118 catches,1800 yds and 13 TD he was a big help on offense those 2 years.

Matthews was a huge part of the offense in both 2016 and 2017.

In 2018 the combination of the offense losing the 60 balls Matthews usually caught and also losing out on the 60 balls Delanie usually caught really hurt not only the offense but Mariota as well.

Getting AJ Brown and Adam Humphries will really help the offense and Mariota get back on track.

Davis was already the #1 WR.  Matthews wasn’t great before he quit either.

Not true. It was intended for him to be but Davis was not even the largest WR worry of opposing Defenses... yet. Davis had 1 game against the Pats the year before.

Rishard's 2 season before last year were on par or significantly better than that Davis last season.

Now before you and tweedledum go do some retarded shit... I'm not saying (nor have i indicated anywhere that) Matthews is better than Davis is right now.

Matthews was also recovering from injury.

The giant help will be if Delanie returns to form and the other TE's take a step up. Im a bit worried about TE atm. I dont think Delanie will come close to his old self, we have no idea whats up with Jonnu, and Pruitt sounds like he's taken a step back.

So yeah, Humph/ Brown being the high reception numbers for tough yards kind of guys will really help fill the void. It just limits us formation-wise. I also think Sharpe is a good possession guy and if he gained strength for separation at the line, could be a decent player in that regard as well.
