PFF - sacks/hits/hurries - % QB's fault.

Reddit r/NFL thread..

Sacks hits and hurries that PFF attributes to the QBs.

Nice numbers to check out. Click the table and images for links to the thread discussions.

mariota is only credited with 7 total faulted sacks/hits/hurries on the year. he's so low that he doesnt even make this list - WHICH IS INSANE - considering the number of times he was sacked/hit/hurried. seems low actually to me.. so theres some numbers to research.

according to other researchers on r/Tennesseetitans... mariota was 8th best when you add up the numbers for % of drop backs where the QB can be faulted for sacks/hurries/hits.

Yet more evidence that the main thing wrong with Mariotas production is simply the lack of pass attempts our offense ran and TD%.

Even when the rate is better than most of the league - if you pass less, people remember the mistakes more.

Improve TD% back to where it was the first 2 seasons and the offense will take off.

Seahawks had fewer pass attempts than the Titans. Put up more yards, 35 tds, and only 7 ints without a stud to catch the ball. But they do have a good QB.

Instead of worrying about throwing more with a QB who cant even stay on the field long enough to throw the ball 40 times a game, maybe we should feed the ball to Henry. You know the thing that usually helps us win games.

Weren’t 5 or 6 of the 11 sacks against Baltimore attributed to Mariota?  Guess he was perfect in every other game 🙄

TD% sticks out but his INT% isn’t good either and his Passer rating was 22nd.  They’d likely pass more if they were more efficient doing it.

They could have thrown it 62 times per game last year but it would yielded 33 TD’s.  29 the year prior.  Assuming said player would able to throw it that much without being hurt.

Yeah, instead of relying on the guy we currently have on the roster as the starting QB, let’s just always rely on the run game. Lol.

And russel Wilson is a top 5 QB. We know Mariota is not. Constantly comparing the two is silly.

Question. Are you just waiting in every thread to attempt to rebuttal every thing concerning Mariota? Just curious.

i didnt come up with either set of stats. argue with PFF. it was stated by some here that he was at fault for 5-6.. not sure the actual PFF numbers reflected that.

Int% was fine. Passer rating is heavily dependent on TD%... which we already said needed to be fixed. if you pass more... you get better at it. if you practice doing anything more, you get better at it. this DOES NOT mean that teams that pass more are automatically more efficient.

They could have thrown it 62 times per game last year but it would yielded 33 TD’s.  29 the year prior.  Assuming said player would able to throw it that much without being hurt.

Didnt we already cover the TD%? I thought we covered the TD%.

Any idea why everyone else had detailed numbers except Mariota? 🤔

go to reddit and ask. .. but you dont like to try and research anything. i'm pretty sure its because they only broke down the 28 with the most sacks/hits/hurries total.

the thing you should be gleaning from that is the %... mariota is 8th from the bottom for causing his own sacks/hits/hurries. ... because in reality... who gives a flying fuck about the breakdown. its about play disruption. the totals are fine for the comparison.

you're reeling here BudA

You don’t find it odd that everyone else had a detailed breakdown it him?  Of course there’s zero context to their methodology either.  Without that info, it’s really hard to put any credence into it.

As for passer rating, the efficiency categories are all important and the only one he fared well in was completion % and that’s the easiest one to pad given today’s offenses.  Interception rate is too high.  Sack rate,  it in the formula, was 31st last year.

It’s completely conjecture on your part that volume would improve the efficiency..

I’ could just as easily speculate that more passing could lead to more interceptions, sacks, and more games with #8 in street clothes.
