I assumed that the Ravens wanted him to move on so they could promote the current guy but then they issued a press release saying they were surprised by him coming out of retirement. titanruss
3 hours ago, Huston said: "By any stretch of the imagination, the Tennessee Titans offense had its struggles in team periods during the first day of the three-day mini-camp on Tuesday. All three quarterbacks struggled in the first team period, with Marcus Mariota missing Corey Davis on his first pass, and then having a second one knocked away by LeShaun Sims. Later on in the period, a pass for tight end MyCole Pruitt, that looked to be a little behind the receiver, was knocked down by Malcolm Butler. Things didn’t look much better for Ryan Tannehill, and third-stringer Logan Woodside had one pass broken up by defensive back Mike Jordan and the very next ball picked off by Jordan. So, all in all, it wasn’t a stellar day for the Titans’ passing offense. Either that, or the defense had a banner day. Take your pick. At any rate, neither Mariota nor head coach Mike Vrabel put much stock into the showing. “Today was one of those deals. I thought we kind of fought back and forth, but the defense playe well today,” Mariota said. “Obviously, you want to be a little more accurate at times, but the defense made some plays. I thought Malcolm made a big play on the ball.” Mariota laughed when reminded that he asked the defense for a rematch in the thir down period. “It left a bad taste in our mouths for sure,” he said. Vrabel gave credit to the defense during the aforementioned period, rather than laying it at the quarterbacks’ feet. “I wouldn’t say that was just quarterback play. I think that for that particular period, I think the defense was ready to go. They blitzed the heck out of them, which I said that they were going to do, and that was what we wanted to do coming in,” Vrabel said. “We’re not going to sit here and evaluate the whole offseason on one period. I think that each quarterback maybe got six reps. That’s not something we’ve ever done, that’s not something that we will do.” Isn’t that from day 1 and not day 2? He makes big plays every single day out there - Jennings hasn't been heard from. Jennings and maybe even Taylor need to be looking over there shoulder for Batson. How many plays have you heard Batson has made? Stop with the bullshit.
TitanDuckFan
Between dropped balls and special teams play it wouldn't surprise me to see Sharpe stick and Taylor's job on the bubble, given the A.J. and Hump acquisitions. Sharpe was very reliable last season, especially at finding the sticks when it mattered.
