I refuse to get excited until Jake weighs in.

I'd say the trade up for Hooker didn't hurt them.  They probably would have taken Walker at the spot they traded away.

That play where he blew up that kick return...OMG

NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein compares Georgia LB D'Andre Walker to San Francisco 49ers DL Dee Ford.

Ford just recently signed an $87.5 million extension with the 49ers, so Walker (6'2/251) shouldn't mind this comparison too much. Zierlein lists Walker's strengths, including his ability to gain ground with his first three steps, and that he "never stops working towards the ball. The weaknesses include inconsistent technique, and below-average instincts and recognition skills. "[Walker] needs to improve his play strength and technique to handle run responsibilities," Zierlein writes, "but he could find early work as a rotational edge-bending rush specialist until he's ready to take over as a starter."

The Draft Network's Trevor Sikkema projects the Titans to select Georgia LB D'Andre Walker with the 51st pick in his team-specific 2019 NFL Mock Draft.

Sikkema notes that if he had his druthers, he'd give the Titans an edge-rusher with pick 19, but the top players aren't on the board, so he instead gives them a pass-catcher in Kelvin Harmon. "Walker, as an early down edge player, projects well to compliment Harold Landry as the anchor to Landry’s pure speed rush on the other side," Sikkema writes. There's some risk here because of Walker's injuries -- he may not be ready for the NFL Scouting Combine -- but on paper, this is a pick that makes an awful lot of sense.

I think some here know this, but I live just outside Chattanooga and in Georgia. Heart of Bulldog Country. I’ve seen this kid play a lot, good character and a very good player. Any clue what made him slide or why we were taking him in 3 and held off until Round 5?
