Wtf? Was that Sidious at the end?

And that's a peculiar title for the movie given this is supposed to be the end of the Skywalker story.

Yeah, it for sure was Palpatine

I don't like the name either, but there will likely be some connection to Rey and the Skywalkers

It's almost as if they selected the title to increase speculation, interest, and intrigue.

I went and looked on IMDb... sure enough he's listed in the credits. I assumed he died when Vader tossed him down the shaft, but maybe he didn't? If he didn't... where the fuck's he been all this time?

As for Rey, I thought for a second that Shmi may have had another kid, but that would make Rey Luke's aunt (and much older than she is) so that's obviously not happening. Also, I don't see Leia and Han separating Ben and Rey if they were twins so I don't think she's a Skywalker in that way. And obviously she wouldn't be the offspring of Anakin, unless he got busy sometime after turning into Darth Vader. I don't see that being likely given how physically fucked up he got after his duel with Obi-Wan, although Obi didn't exactly cut off his dick too while he was cutting off the rest of his limbs. Maybe he got some space poon whilst he was out fucking up the galaxy? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I mean, I guess she could pass as a much younger sister of Luke? Vader would have had to be screwing around right before or right after A New Hope to make that even remotely possible.

If she's related to the Skywalker family it's looking more and more likely that she was Luke's daughter by some unnamed woman. Either that or the title of this movie has shit all to do with Rey and her relation to the Skywalker family.

Smart move given how sour a taste the last two movies (TLJ and Solo) left in people's mouths.

I just hope having Palpatine in the movie doesn't reek of trying to pull all the lost old heads back in. I mean, there's no amount of ret-conning that can save Rian Johnson's shitfest of a movie, but it's still possible to go out on a very high note... if they don't fuck up.

I was reading how in the books that he's been back... Don't know any details but that it's not just some nonsensical Rian Johnson thing

Likely though, my guess is that it will be Ghost Palpatine and Kylo having their thing

Don't get me wrong, I'm hyped about Palp being in the movie and I'll probably go to the theater for sure now to watch this. But bringing Palp back seems like a ret-con of Johnson's killing off of Snoke so they don't have to go back and explain his backstory. It'd be a helluva lot easier to just say that Snoke was another in a long line of Sidious' apprentices. It'd also be easy to ret-con their having had yet another Death Star in The Force Awakens by attributing it to Sidious. "That bastard just loves his planet-killing weapons."

I’m also thinking force ghost. Why shouldn’t a sith be able to have a force ghost? Hell, Anakin showed up again at the end of ROTJ.

That last part on that planet looked like the laser beam part of the Death Star. If so, would that make that planet Endor?

Well Endor was a moon so maybe that part of the Death Star ended up in another nearby planet or moon.

Certainly would make sense if the Emperor’s spirit were tied to the remains of that Death Star when he died.
