If you think the investigations are over, remember this...

Its goes deeper than the Trump being President. Barr also believes you can't have obstruction without an underlying crime. Those two stances are exactly why Trump nominated Barr.

Yep.

Because the obstruction aspect is what they were really worried about. And Mueller didn't make a determination on obstruction and punted the issue, which Barr intercepted and ruled on exactly how you'd expect him to.

I will say I see no reason Congress should not be able to review the entirety of the investigation.

This. It is also going to leak eventually, and the spin will be ramped up to a trillion by any and all media outlets. No one is going to accept a summary from Barr with his comments on obstruction and they shouldn't.

But as many have said over and over again expectations should be tempered. Mueller's report has already got the hackers and the Russian election interference, Manafort, and Cohen. The latter two show the Trump administration was not clean. Take this for what it is and move on.

Trump does not have to be guilty of collusion in a "webster's dictionary", letter of the law kind of way for us to realize he acted improperly on Russia.

We already know that he lied to the American people about dealings with Russia.

We already know that he went before the entire world and defended Putin over our intelligence agencies when we had definitive proof that Russia was interfering in our election--a shocking moment in US presidential history that no one seems to care about.

Trump does things on a daily basis that should alarm a citizen who actually cares about democracy or the future of our nation. When you have someone like Sarah Sanders tweeting propaganda disguised as a march madness bracket attacking the media from an official account you know his supporters are going to be unphased by the way he violates the norms of respectable government.

And here's the thing--the guy was on tape saying "grab them by the pussy" and his base didn't give a shit. As mentioned before, he was sympathetic to the Russians over our own intelligence agencies ("I believe him") and his base didn't care. He paid off a porn star and his base didn't give a shit.

The only way Trump will lose is if we mobilize people to vote and beat the electoral college and if we wake middle America up to the way Trump is empowering the wealthy over their needs. They don't give a shit about social issues or international politics or morality. They'll believe what they are going to believe or what talk radio/fox says. Take one glance at the disconnected from reality rants of the conservatives on the board.

Trump needs to be dragged for including Medicare in his budget cuts. He needs to be dragged for the tax cuts that aren't helping non-wealthy Americans.

But only if the Executive branch is a member of the other party.

It's a game and everybody knows it...which is why it only plays into the hands of the Republicans when the Democrats play it. It confirms the narrative that they're  just on a witch hunt...which of course they are. Most voters don't give a crap about it. Everyone knows Trump's a slimy dirtbag. Nothing the Democrats will produce will add to that fact and continuing to pursue it will likely do more harm than good.

This is what politics has devolved to. Don't bother trying to convince people your ideas are better...it's much easier to try to leverage social media to demonize the other side.

Of course this is how politics works nowadays. It’s how it has worked since Newt. Politics is a team sport.

Dems want to investigate Trump. Republicans refuse to investigate Trump. Both sides are politically motivated.

As it relates to Mueller's investigation? We've already seen multiple convictions and pleas. There won't be any more related to the russia investigation since the investigation is over.

as it relates to any investigation.  What do you think, has this administration been "vindicated" ?

The idea the Dems can't campaign for 2020 and also conduct congressional oversight is ridiculous

It is, but they would be smart to let dead dogs lie on the Russian side and go totally quiet on the SDNY side.

I disagree.

Obama made a mistake not going public with the Russian interference during the campaign when for some idiotic reason he obeyed McConnell

Then as soon as they started conforming Barr the Dems should have started screaming the fix is in. They could have put so much pressure on Barr that this shit would be getting covered totally different right now.

The mistake wasn't going after Trump on Russia and obstruction, the mistake was not going all out harder and sooner.

If you’re referring to them putting their foot down on getting the full report I agree. Other than that though it’s time to move on.

@oldschool

i had had the same question regarding if Trump is redacting before it gets to Congress. I would have to imagine that is the case since the report is not going to be released to the public. If so, the fix is obviously in and the Dems need to blast them for it.

Trump won’t be indicted over Russia; he will be indicted over bank fraud. Seriously, listen to Chris Christie on this. He knows what he’s talking about.

Tax fraud, too, based on the blatantly illegal way he used the Trump Foundation as a personal slush fund

But perhaps they will wait to charge him until he is out of office?

theres a reason trump tried to stop the investigation in every way possible.

theres also a reason he's openly declaring vicotry and trying to take all those to court who had a hand in the investigation.

its simple. he knows he and his family fucked up and knows its not over... so when things come up again - and they will - people will be scared to pursue.

Also a reason he called it a witch hunt from the beginning, and it showed...

When is your "I know its true" moment going to happen?

Keep hoping. That's all yall got. All yall ever had.
