Titans Trade for Tannehill, Release Gabbert

Recommended Posts

Idk why people think this was ever a competition lol.

Marcus was always in competition with himself only. Regardless if Tannehill was here or not, Marcus’ performance would have dictated if he was the starter or not.

Same goes here. Has nothing to do with how Tannehill preforms or not. Tannehill is just the safe guard of Marcus dosent earn the extension.

Marcus will play out the whole season if he isn’t injured. Jrob knows if he dosent extend Mariota he’s stacking the chips to move in on Herbert it whomever he sees to be better.

Mariota is the starter but Tannehill is much more than a Whitehurst, Cassel, or Gabbert.

Tannehill wants to be a starter and he’ll be waiting for his chance. If Mariota falters he’ll step in and either be the new guy or at least be trying to be a bridge QB for us while we look for a rookie.

That said Tannehill’s so much like Mariota in so many ways it’s almost eerie. I wouldn’t have much hope he’d be anything more than a bridge QB if Mariota busts this year.

I think Tannehill will have more talent around him than he's ever had at Miami. I like Mariota....more than most around here. I'm not looking to replace him. But if he gets hurt, I would not be surprised if Tanny looks very good. Very good.

Yea, he hits on most of it.  They sensationalize the movies and skip over important details or boring parts.  I liked jarhead because of the video the GF sent to the Soldier of her f'n some other dude.  I can't tell you how many times I've seen some cruel f'd up stuff like that.  Now that is realistic.  Or when they're talking on the radio and just say stupid crap.  Every now and then you can tell they had someone consulting who had a good eye for detail but usually they get stuff really wrong.

Oh shit I forgot about that scene.

Man... even if the guy has been a douchebag to the girl that's still some repugnant shit. Next-level mind fuckery. And potentially dangerous if the guy is going to be in a situation where he needs to be 110% focused.

Why does that happen so often? Are the people the guys hook up with just that fucked in the head? The guys just not that great a judge of character once they start waving their pussy in their faces?

How telling is it that Robinson told both guys Mariota is the starter? Really? Let that sink in.

Tell me how many teams that had an established starting QB and acquired a QB the GM would need to let both guys know who the starter is?

Young Soldiers do stupid things.  Always have always will.  I knew a guy on my first deployment that blew his brains out cuz his girl left him and took all his money.  She was an ex-stripper/amateur porn star and they met and then got married a few weeks before he deployed for a YEAR.

Saw another guy find out his wife had a bf because he found her facebook blog (myspace was still big back then, facebook was new).  Worst part is she had met him using a dating service that he was paying for and didn't know it.  She ran up all his credit cards, she took out loans in his name.  I mean ridiculous shit.  She had been sleeping with one of his buddies in his platoon.  What do you do when you find out something like that.  It's not like you get to go home.  He had to live with that shit for almost two months before he got to go back and take care of his business.  Crushed him.

Again and again and again, I tell young Soldiers don't fall in love with strippers, don't get married before deployment.  Blah blah blah.  It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

I'm very impressed with Robinson the last two days. Cutting Kline and getting a co-starter at QB really shows Robinson's ultimate goal of winning.

Tannehill pretty much works the same way Taylor would have. He's mobile(Former college WR) and can run the same stuff Mariota can. Robinson clearly had the same line of thinking in terms of not going into the season counting on Mariota.

Robinson didn't draft Mariota and he's not tied to him beyond this season. It's more than possible MM doesn't finish this season as the team's starting QB now. The thing is it doesn't matter. If he plays well he keeps the job, if he doesn't he'll be replaced, end of story.
