9 Nines
Crazy Trump is at it again - criticizes someone for something he knows he does: President Trump said that he was struck by Beto O’Rourke’s gesticulations during the former Texas congressman’s first day on the campaign trail, NBC News reports. Said Trump: “Well, I think he’s got a lot of hand movement. I’ve never seen so much hand movement. I said, ‘Is he crazy or is that just the way he acts?’ I watched him a little while this morning, during I assume it was some kind of a news conference, and I’ve actually never seen anything quite like it.” Trump dodged a question about whether he thought O’Rourke or Joe Biden would make for a tougher opponent. Trump's team planned to shape who the Democrat nominee is by overly going after the one they actually want to make Democrats primary votes rush to that person's aid by nominating that person. I have a feeling, Trump, who dyes his comb over hair and puts fake tan on his face daily, is very jealous of O'Rourke on so many levels and will not be able to resist attacking O'Rourke, who is the last person Trump probably wants to run against him, defeating that ploy by his team. Legaltitan
Funny the hands is what he mentions, because Beto has some real mitts if I'm not mistaken. Would swallow Trump's in a pre-debate handshake, which would almost make nominating him worth it if nothing else than for that. MadMax

The "sausage making" process on capitol hill is complicated and messy. Folks that have been there for a while end up having taken official positions on all sorts of things. Plus the fact that, the longer you are in Washington, the more you start to sound like a political whore. Last two Presidents have had the least experience of almost anyone. And it isn't like George W had a ton of experience either. Then before that, Bill Clinton, who was governor, but he was considered young and green too. Before him was HW, and he rode Reagan's coattails into office and then got thrown out. His wealth of experience didn't do much for him. And then of course before that was Reagan, who made a name for himself not as a politician, but as an actor. Hell I guess might as well go back one more - Jimmy Carter was a country boy from Georgia. Obviously a lot of these guys were governors, but "political experience" were not really their calling cards. You're talking a lot about electoral strategy, not governance. Certainly experience is just one factor and there are a lot of characteristics that matter in leadership and governance. If you like Beto, imagine him with 4 or 8 years of experience being a governor. Or 4 or 8 years as a Senator on a major committee. Think he would be a better leader with that experience? I suspect yes. Personally, I think Clinton would have been a better President back in 2008, and Obama a better one in 2016. Disregard political strategy for the time being. The country, and especially the world, is a complex and complicated place. Our American values, the rights we think are self-evident are not actually as universally accepted and readily evident to everyone in the world. (something I think Obama recognized later on his presidency). Dynamism in a candidate can be interesting and at times positive. However I prefer someone who has seen the good and bad in the world. Who may be a bit more humble because they've seen history unfurl, and maybe made some mistakes too. I also prefer someone who can empathize, because they've suffered too, they've been through tragedy and come out the other side. They may have baggage, most people do, especially those who have been around for a while. So while he may not fit into the perfect Democratic or Progressive mold, I look at the landscape and easily think Biden would be the best leader for the current time. tgo, oldschool, and Mythos27
begooode
I keep seeing Beto as the energetic VP of the eventual nominee, doing his level best to deliver Texas and traditional red states outside of the Deep South. tgo, ChemEngr79, and Mythos27

My man crush on Beto, or excuse me Bob Frank. He is Kennedyesque. Yeah John John like as in fucking stupid! Libtards are mindless idiots who think with their dicks or asses. No man likes Trump because they think he is handsome and debonair. They like the way he tells libtards to fuck off. Trump would own this bozo on debate. Americans given a choice between a man who talks about the greatness and goodness of America vs some socialist who only sees America as a shithole will always vote for the former. See Reagan vs Mondale. My god. This post is absolute poison. I have reservations about most anyone running, but holy shit this is over the top.
