I haven't been on a college campus in almost 4 years. So youre telling me that colleges just became racist since then?

That's fine, agree/ disagree. It isnt a problem.

Anyone see Trump condemn the Hollywood elite paying to get their kids into college?

Of course then it was released shortly after how the moron paid 1.4 mill total to get the two morons, Ivanka and Don jr into college

I'll just say this about affirmative action, college campuses, and racism.

America has a long history of racial injustice.  To turn a blind eye when that injustice is there is not only illogical but morally wrong.  Many conservatives argue for more egalitarianism and that everything should be fair and based off of merit but we don't live in an American society where things are fair.  We live in a society that told women they couldn't fly planes and told blacks they weren't smart enough to vote, or human enough to sit at the front of the bus.  We live in a society that for decades only sold a property and/or real estate to individuals of a certain race until all the whites ended up in one neighborhood and all the minorities in another.  All the business, tax revenue, and resources went with the whites.  Suburbs flourished while inner cities fell into poverty.

The truth is, we live in a country where if you start white and wealthy, you would have to be a complete moron to not continue to be wealthy and likely your kids are going to be good to go with every advantage as well.  If you grow up poor and a minority, chances are you will never overcome that and you will be poor your entire life.  So will your kids.

This was done on purpose and it's well documented.  To deny it is wrong and unjust.  This latest issue is one more example in a long line of examples in which people have two different worlds open to them.  People complain about Whites not having a fair playing field but then White students are overrepresented by 13% on college campuses, a figure higher than in 1995 where they were only overrepresented

Pay for schools have a White enrollment of 77% while blacks and Hispanics continue to be underrepresented by around 8%.

Meanwhile, open enrollment schools are the opposite.  These schools have less money and minorities are over-represented.  The graduation rate is far lower and the outcomes are poorer.  Minority students are being funneled into different schools than whites.  Separate, unequal.  One might argue that whites are just smarter than blacks but the standardized test scores show that when minorities get the same opportunities as White students they are just as likely to graduate with a positive outcome.

People who want to base everything off test scores gloss over the problems in the current education system and the fact that the top scores overwhelmingly go to the most wealthy students.  It's complicated and it's a problem and people don't want to face inconvenient truths.  Shame on them.

I want to live in an America where you work hard and you can move up.  I think that's the America most of us want to live in.  It's why it confuses me when people support policies that deliberately undermine any attempt to make things fairer or to help people "pull themselves up by the bootstraps".

That's because fairness isn't the goal. These people all understand that they have a big advantage over minorities and the poor and they actively want to keep it that way. They've spent the last hundred years stacking the deck. You think they're gonna give up the upper hand now?

Some do.  I want, maybe need, to believe that the average American doesn't feel that way.

I wasn't talking about the average Americans though. I'm only talking about the ones that see multiculturalism as a direct threat to white superiority. The average American isn't racist like those assholes.

LOL:  Mob prez Trump last year: They call it flipping, it should be outlawed.  Fine, brave people making deals with law enforcement.

The tip that triggered the investigation into the largest alleged collegiate entrance scam ever prosecuted came from a financial executive's last-ditch effort to squirm out of the crosshairs of federal authorities, a law enforcement official tells CNN.

The executive, identified by the Wall Street Journal as Morrie Tobin, was being investigated as part of a separate financial fraud case and gave investigators enough information that they were able to identify William Rick Singer as the mastermind of the plot, the official said.

Tobin faced two charges of securities fraud for his role in a pump-and-dump scheme involving the manipulation of stock from two companies he secretly owned. The Securities and Exchange Commission said the stock from both of those companies was artificially inflated for Tobin's own profit.

He told investigators that Rudolph "Rudy" Meredith, the head women's soccer coach at Yale University, had sought a bribe in return for getting his daughter into the Ivy League school, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Maybe we're being too hard on the parents and the kids in this case.  Some of these parents are just decent people trying to do what's best for their kids, and some of the kids themselves are looking to work really hard at getting a good education and becoming productive members of society.

Here's a prime example of what I'm talking about:

Son of parents caught in college admissions scandal just wants to work hard and get a good education

No, the fact that you assume that all white people in this country were involved with any of the "injustice" you speak of is wrong. The fact that you act like slavery and Jim Crow was a nation wide thing is wrong. Hell half the states in this country didn't even exist when slavery was legal. Half the damned whites that are in this country today hadn't even migrated here yet either. And just FYI not a single damned white person alive today or black person today ever experienced slavery in this country. So you think it is fair that every white person should pay for black people to have more than them because some white people who have long been dead were unfair to some long been dead blacks more than 100 years ago? Bullshit. There are a large number of white people in this country that struggle just as much as black people. It is racist to only want to help people of a certain color. Period.

Stop denying the fact that Asians have higher rates of college acceptance and higher rates of attaining degrees and also higher rates of incomes than whites do. If there was so much systemic racism in this country then Asians would still be Indentured servants. You don't see White people blaming Asian success on racism. White people admit the fact that Asians have far better family values and work ethic than whites do and that's why they beat our ass in Academics. Are we going to pretend that Asians were never discriminated against?

Yes we need to do more to help the poor in this country advance. Unfortunately, we cant help the poor in this country because a certain group of people think that illegal immigrants, slavery reparations, and blacks are more important. Keep in mind that there are poor and struggling people of all colors, not just blacks. Helping only a certain group of people will only bring resentment from the other groups and only encourages racism.

The federal poverty rate for Asians in America is at 10% compared to just 8% for white, non-Hispanic according to us census beauru data. So if Asians have better family structure and kick our ass in academics as you suggest, and the playing field is level, then how does that work?  Perhaps the preconceived notion isn’t as accurate as you would like to believe.

Poverty is a problem, it’s true. For everyone. There’s no reason that 17% of the country should live in poverty in the richest nation on earth. I absolutely agree on that front.

But to pretend like racism hasn’t played a role in opportunities for minorities in this country or that it isn’t still going on is just naieve at best.

Black reparations are just plain wrong.  You didnt even mention how many blacks have immigrated here over the centuries.  Or the fact that we had some black slave owners.   Or how much wealth blacks have in this country compared to the rest of the world.

As I said earlier in the thread, the blame has to put on the SAT and ACT testing companies.  I don't see them surviving all of this once the lawsuits start coming.  They've been giving special-ed accommodations to test takers that aren't even enrolled in any special-ed schools or classes.  And it's ridiculous how they go about administering the tests. Way too much power is being given to the test administrators, and without having performed extensive background checks on those test administrators, this was bound to happen.

They will be sued into oblivion.  The Attorney General may even choose to shut them down first.
