Foles to sign with jags

Barring any last-minute snags, the Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to sign free-agent quarterback Nick Foles to a multiyear contract when the new league year opens next week, according to sources.

Teams are not allowed to talk deals with free agents until March 11, and no deals can be announced until the start of the new league year on March 13.

The Jaguars are expected to release quarterback Blake Bortles and install Foles as their starter. Jacksonville will have to pay $6.5 million of Bortles' 2019 salary, which was fully guaranteed when he signed his current contract last year.

The Jaguars' expected signing of Foles was first reported by Philly.com.

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said Wednesday that the team would not place the franchise tag on Foles, leaving him a free agent.

"He deserves an opportunity to lead a team," Roseman said.

I think at this point he just has to disagree/start a fight in every thread.

Nobody gives a shit about tampering.    All teams spend the whole Senior Bowl and Combine tampering.

did you just make up a scenario and say it's reality then complain about the made up scenario?   multiple sources are stating it['s as good as a done deal.  what evidence do you need? a

when is the cutoff point though?

there has to be some sort of date otherwise teams will start calling future free agents mid-season... guys will shut down to stay healthy for their future contracts.

there needs to be a date.

they should honestly go back to the last system. as it is now, the tampering just gets closer and closer to the end of the previous year.

There is a date. It’s just not enforced. Let a few teams get some severe penalties and things will change

yeah thats what i mean. theres a "legal" cut off... and then theres the time agents will actually discuss with teams.

there needs to be an outright 1 year ban on agents caught tampering before the date... otherwise they will begin tampering in november.

Yeah it’s just gotten ridiculous. They added the tampering period to try and stop it, but without severe penalties it won’t ever stop. Like you said, guys on bad teams will start to shut it down so they save themselves for free agency.
