It’s the same problem Republicans have with everything in the Trump era: if they oppose Trump on anything they get primaried.

There has got to be a line somewhere though, right??

Unless they're ready to just full on embrace a dictatorship, they've got to eventually take the black eye that comes with severing their support of him and rebuild their imagine. Trump isn't going to be President forever.

Lots of Republicans have come out against it too already. Probably why McConnell said he'd back it. He figured it'd get trump to sign but then him trying to declare a National Emergency would be DOA and then get thrown out by the courts.

Gutless McConnell just didn't want another shut down hurting Republicans.

It really is amazing how stupid the Republicans look in this whole thing. Anyone who supports any of this is a certified drooling retard. There is no national emergency at the border. It’s the ports of entry and lack of visa enforcement that is harming our country.

and lack of education... and mental health... and heathcare in general... and non-living wages... and income inequality / unequal taxation

...all things the republicans never put money towards.

My God you people are gullible.

I was watching the Qultists until they got banned from reddit.  I have looked into it more recently and yeah, some kind of red castle shit.

It's a bizarre home for all conspiracy theorists.  They don't even agree on their conspiracies, but flock around Trump....for some reason.

The Sox's, Little Earl's, and Trolltard's , they have no idea what they are in the middle of.  They can only see libtard, so they follow.

Bottom line, they are onboard with Trump superseding Congress and declaring a national emergency at the border.  It's entirely symbolic, yet they feel it is important enough to implement.

They are truly willing to give Trump the ability to override Congress for a wall.  They are willing to give Trump the ability to do whatever it takes. The legislature be damned, they just want a king.

The El Chapo trial totally undercut Trump's message on a wall stopping illegal drugs.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2019/01/16/trump-says-border-wall-would-help-stop-drugs-el-chapos-smugglers-suggest-it-wont/

“The best evidence suggests that the vast majority of hard drugs that enter the United States are smuggled in vehicles passing ports of entry. Clearly, if we want to make a smart investment that would slow down … drug trafficking, they would need to be at the ports of entry, not building a wall,” said Christopher Wilson, deputy director of the Mexico Institute at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Jesús Zambada Garcia, a former leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel, testified this week that for years smugglers used trucks and other vehicles with hidden compartments to ply their trade. Witnesses also testified about the use of fishing boats.

The testimonies seem to be corroborated by the federal government’s own findings. The DEA report says private vehicles and tractor-trailers passing through ports of entry are among the primary methods of smuggling drugs across the southwest border, with traffickers mixing contraband with legal goods.

Authorities have long said that tunnels are used to smuggle drugs. More than 200 tunnels have been discovered in the Border Patrol’s history. The longest was a half-mile tunnel, equipped with ventilation, rails and electricity, found in 2016 leading into San Diego from Tijuana.

“If you can tunnel underneath something, obviously a wall wouldn’t stop that,” Wilson said, adding that tunnels are usually built in areas where walls and fences, sometimes double or triple fencing, already exist.

Remember when Bush wasn't even invited to attend the republican convention?  This will be far worse.

McConnell kept the government open while letting the idiot have a useless losing strategy with the declaration.

There will not be any meaningful wall.

Why don't you guys give up on this stupid wall.  Seriously.  You fight like hell against putting up a wall to prevent drugs, trafficking, gangs and violence coming into this country and cheer like hell if you can kill a baby.  Morally bankrupt and stupid.

You fools think that the wall is not going to get built and continue to tell yourself that.

It is going to be built. You think that the Supreme Court is going to rule against the laws on the books?
