But it's hard to give him much credit for those. The tax bill only got passed because Trump finally got out of the negotiations and let the Republicans handle it. Despite all the giveways it barely passed, but they got it through so fine. And He's appointed all those Judges because McConnell held up Obama's appointments. Hell Trump doesn't even pick the Judges, he has an outside organization doing that for him. He literally could not care less who the Judges are, just so long as they either make his base happy or are a reward for a favor. Criminal justice reform bill I'll give him credit for at least being open to doing it, and Kushner negotiated that one and I'll give Trump credit on that too. Cutting regulations - ok fine. BTW these are the things Trump loves the most, things he doesn't need Congress to do. Now I guarantee he has no hand or say in which regulations are being cut but whatever he can have this one. Slightly renegotiated NAFTA to get a couple of little goodies for the US and renamed it something else. So, what else has he accomplished? This is a multi-year, multi-billion dollar policy decision. The application of critical thinking skills should be required. Understanding of immigration policy should be required. Trump's call for the wall is based on a simple appeal to pathos (Criminals! Drugs! Murderers! Human Traffickers!) Soxcat and other wall advocates--choose one thing from that bucket and show me the policy that says the wall is the best solution. I made a policy challenge in another thread regarding the shut down that was a basic ask and none of them even attempted to respond. Maybe it was too many words. But when you ask them to get into the details and get into the reality of how people combat these issues you will see them hit, pun intended, a fucking wall. Honestly, your three little bullets points are applying elementary school education logic to the issue. I'm pressing you right now for evidence or an argument based around logical points about cost, infrastructure, alternative solutions, sources of immigration, and best practices in immigration enforcement. Great Wall of China - worked pretty well to keep out marauding nomadic armies although ghengis Kahn defeated it. Still that's pretty good for 2500 years so I give this one a B with the deduction mainly due to cost/resources vz effectiveness. 2. The Wall from Pink Floyd - was a total disaster and led to the poor bastard being tried and convicted after being shamed by his loved ones. Grade: F. 3. The wall around the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam - did not work too well. The English just attacked by sea, tore down the wall, re-named the place New York, and named the street where the wall was, Wall Street. Grade: D+. 4. Berlin wall - actually worked pretty well to keep communists in and non-communists out. But even though very small and heavily guarded, people still found ways to breach the wall. Was ultimately deemed immoral. Reagan demanded Gorbachev tear down the wall, and he did. Grade: A-, with points off for killings/immorality 5. Soccer walls - this is done when someone gets a direct kick following a foul. Sometimes these work, and sometimes they don't. Grade: C 6. Wall around Nancy Pelosi's house - this one doesn't exist actually, so I give it an I for incomplete. 7. The Wall in the North - worked very well and held for thousands of years until a magic zombie dragon came and blasted it down. But really who could have anticipated that?
