abc2330 Report post Posted February 2 5 minutes ago, IsntLifeFunny said: That wasn’t your original point. Of course the offense was stripped down. Mariota was hurt in game 1. Come back to talking football. The offense is designed as a timing offense. There’s no part of it where Daviswas limited by the design. He was limited by the fact Mariota was hurt and defenses were bracketing him (they rarely doubled him because they didn’t respect Mariota). NE did this, and Davis killed them. Against arguably the best CB in the league this year. Then Mariota got knicked at the end and started throwing funky passes again and Davis was never able to replicate it. No doubt Davis is young and has plenty of room to improve, but I just don't think that is a coincidence at all.

Thrill Report post Posted February 2 He was 35% of our receiving yards on the season. If our team had thrown for 4000 yards and he had that same percentage he would’ve had 1400 yards. Davis just needs consistent qb play. I know some people think he’s not quite a #1 WR yet but our passing offense was laughable this season. If he was on the chiefs he puts up 100 yards a game. 3 big2033, Number9, and Soxcat reacted to this

Bongo59 Report post Posted February 3 (edited) I'd trade him at draft......No one in Nashville is paying him a top 5 tag. It would be wise to dump him for a two this year for a two. Edited February 3 by Bongo59

Let’s see him in the offense with other weapons before we go dumping him for a 2nd rounder smh 2 Soxcat, and titanruss reacted to this

TitanDuckFan Report post Posted February 3 Out of all the Titans' receivers CD definitely had the best year. But then again there was a real lack of experience across the board as far as Titans' receivers went. Every WR and TE active most of the year on the Titans, had their best year or matched their best year ever catching the ball in 2018, in terms of total yards, except two. Tajae and Jennings. Jennings' only other year was 2015 though, and Tajae's only other year was 2016. Even Dion Lewis had his best year ever receiving in 2018. More targets, more receptions and more yards than he's ever gotten before. Henry had more in a couple of prior years that were better, and Stocker matched his best year for yards produced. All the rest had their personal bests, despite how bad the passing game was. Pruitt Taylor Smith Stocker Lewis Davis And the rookies Batson and Firkser Nah, it couldn't have been a lack of experience, it had to be Marcus. 2 bosss50, and Justafan reacted to this

I understand your overall point and agree to an extent but IMO the single thing that most affected the passing game were Mariota's injuries. If Marcus never gets hurt all the retarded narratives about him sucking wouldn't exist. Personally, I would say that a lot of our disappointment in 2018 was because of Marcus but it's not necessarily his fault because getting injured isn't really something that's in a player's control. 4 Huston, bosss50, titanruss, and 1 other reacted to this

And that's fine, if that were all of it. But that's not the case. If you think last year's passing game would have looked the same with a healthy Delanie, and Matthews contributing, you're delusional. 8 out of 11 possible targets had their best years, in a year when the passer admittedly struggled, and the Titans finished close to dead last. Think about that. This is the reason JRob's priority is veterans, not more rookies, in the passing game He knows. He's not wearing blinders.
