It's almost like they should have hired him and not chased him away by insisting on Mularkey. I like JRob well enough but this guy was the better candidate. Hopefully he starts sucking.

He is making smart calculated moves. Check out @Colts’s Tweet:     He was my 1A to J Rob (1B) during the GM search 3 years ago. We are going to need to set the colts as our be

If we switched QBs, he'd be irrelevant to us.

I wish we played more press against the Colts. Zone has never worked and it makes the middle of the field wide open every single fucking time. Amd i think they always run pretty good against us too.

They ran it down our throat both games this season. Luck was in 3rd and short most of the game. Hell, he is hard enough to stop when you know he has to pass. You have zero chance of stopping him when you don't put them in predictable down and distances.

Wrong, having Luck is tremendous for him, but in his short time as GM he has managed to give him infinitely better protection, and provide him with a defense.

The whole thing works because of Luck.  He took far more hits and like 24 fewer sacks than Mariota.  He's only being pressured 3 fewer times per game compared to his earlier years despite the faster pace of the passing offense.

The defense is an impressive feat.  But the offense almost always puts them in a position where they simply must be disciplined while the opposing team tries to keep up.  That defense isn't carrying an offense like ours.

Luck won 11 games and took a below average team to the AFC championship.  He's one of the best players and building blocks in the league.  He doesn't need much help.

Point is he doesn't need much help, but he is getting it. Plus you are discrediting what Ballard did with the O line. Not only are they protecting Luck better, they are also running it better. Mack is probably not a top 20 back talent wise in the league, but that O line makes him top 15 at least.

Indy was #20 in YPC and rushing yards per game.  #11 in QB hits allowed.  Nothing about this signifies a great line.  Everyone's opinions about their O line are affected by our matchups where they saw a master at avoiding sacks and destroying blitzes vs. a clueless QB who sucked ass and gives the ball to opponents as often as he puts it in the end zone.

Okay, now I see your agenda. Marcus played in what......the first quarter of the first game. So technically what he did was not against Marcus.

This thread is not about Marcus. It is about the job Chris Ballard is doing and how J Rob  better get his shit together if he wants to be a factor in the division and reach his ultimate goal. Mariota is the QB next year so it is pointless to turn every thread into a Mariota thread. If he plays in 19 like he did in 18 we will have a new QB in 20. So let's talk about something else please.

Its a bit disingenuous to reference full season stats when its abundantly clear there was a steep learning curve for the Colts to adjust through the first half of the season. They were a completely different team the second half of the season, running game included.
