Opinions On An Improved Mariota For 2019

Remember 2016 when Mariota had 26TD and just 9INT along with 3500 yds passing?

We also led NFL in total points Weeks 5-10 scoring 30,28,26,36,35 and 47 points.

Mariota had good run game, more experienced wideouts and blocking was better.

Run game/wideouts improve so will Mariota...

I think in 2017 and especially 2018 the run game was not consistent, blocking got worse and there was/is way too much youth at WR/TE with the exception of Walker.

When Mariota lost Walker as well as Matthews that was a big chunk of experience and these youngsters and Mariota could not get on the same page not to mention all the dropped passes.

We definitely dont need to draft WR early we've seen that move way too many times already. We need some vet experience bad at WR and we also need a more consistent run game.

Another running back needs to be brought in because Henry/Lewis isnt gonna get it done.

Heard Derrick Mason say the same a couple of days ago.. losing Walker and Matthews was a devastating blow to the passing game.. more than 90% of the receptions from 2017 were suddenly gone..we need vet receiver outside even if we have to overpay ..John Brown's name came up  also

2017,...  You mean the 1st time the Titans went to the post season in almost a decade?

And the 1st time they won a post season game in a decade and a half?

That kinda dog shit?

ROFLMAO

The coach of that team got fired.  That's the owner and GM's opinion of that season.  The QB was sent to QB School, Class 101, Basic Fundamentals.

If a vet WR is needed to help Mariota, then the only option im aware of is Tate who wont be cheap. Im hoping Juwuan James hits the market and we grab him. He could play RT and we could move Conklin to Guard. I think that would do wonders on the OL.

They both needed classes on fundamentals.  The coach (along with a few members of his staff) and the QB.

The coach so he could learn the importance of having a playcaller who understands situational football.

And the QB because the coach was deficient in his training of him.  Choosing instead the idea of having a running back behind center to throw the ball on occasion.

As the press release stated, the coach and the FO "agreed to part ways."

But the QB is still a QB, and so he's still able to learn.

The coach OTOH, is back coaching TEs.  He was not able to learn or adapt.

So the FO knew where the shit came from.

About as meaningless as our overall record for the past 20 years.

Barely, it's pretty far back. The pitiful production since is easier to remember

We’ll learn a lot about what they think of / hope for mariota depending on what they do this offseason.

I personally think they go all in offensively. They get one of the best FA WR... and maybe another middle of the pack FA WR... either can be the the necessary reliable slot guy.  They possibly draft a TE mid- high. They definitely clean up the oline issues and add talent there.. and they may even draft another offensive playmaker.

4-6 guys brought in/ drafted with a real chance to start/ compete for starter.
