AussieTitanFan08
Have to think Smith is going to lean on the running game/TE as a foundation of his offense, going to be important for JRob to make sure we have a good blocking TE on the roster. tgo

You can throw Chris Palmer (I believe he was on staff in Palmers time) in their also, I was only including ones Mariota was around for and would be familiar with. Well I think Smith was on the defensive side when Palmer was OC.

StephenIsLegend
I don’t care how the search was done as long as we get optimal results.
Titans279
Mariota and Smith had more years in the Whiz/Mularkey system than in this new Shanahan tree one, right? Is this going to be a weird Frankenstein's monster of an offense? lol tgo
AvgJoe
I wasn’t that huge of a believer in LaFleur, there were times he just seemed incapable or too stubborn to adapt, though he got better at the end of year. Smith will be fine, but Mariota has to stay on the field and produce. Otherwise Smith and Co will have a new QB in 2020.

Lafleur didn't take all the playbooks and verbiage with him when he left... tgo, and Thrill 1

While that may be true in theory, it's not so much in practice. There's an old adage in the coaching fraternity regarding coaches that get new jobs and the rosters they inherit: "They are "your players" the minute you accept the job."
