Popular Post tgo
This is a must read article. “found that the Titans allowed the fewest QB hits in the NFL by an extremely wide margin. “ “When you combine sacks and hits the Titans quarterbacks were actually the 5th best protected group in the NFL.” “The Titans QB hits total was comprised of 68.1% sacks, almost 10 percentage points higher than the next highest team.” “After going back and re-watching all 47 of the Titans sacks allowed in 2018, I believe that the mystery of the high number of unassigned sacks AND the mystery of the low percentage of QB hits can be explained by the same factor: a tendency for Marcus Mariota to pull his eyes down and look to run when his first couple reads aren’t open.” headhunter, EagleEye, pat, and 4 others 5 1

He also held the ball too long way too often. And more like when his first read, not reads, wasn't open big2033
OILERMAN
A few things that really stand out: He was the only quarterback with at least 300 dropbacks to not record a single “hit as thrown” passing attempt according to PFF charting. the extreme degree to which Mariota chose not to throw inflated the overall sack numbers. Scrub city. He didn't take a single hit while attempting a pass? LOL!!!! Eighteen, and Tyler Rose Fan 1
headhunter
So would it be a waste to put alot more expensive resources at OL?

Titans279
I haven't read the link yet, but is the framing in the tweet that it was a "team issue" a way for him to avoid blaming Mariota in the tweet or is your quotation just a part of the "team issue?" OILERMAN
After the Ravens game you could literally see the Titans wrap Mariota in bubble wrap and try to avoid him dropping back in known passing situations because of the way he froze up

Can't deny that we're wasting the surrounding talent right now. Mariota has enough surrounding pieces to at least be an above average QB if he has the skills. He's getting injured because he's taking bad sacks. He's a running QB without scrambling ability. A statue in the pocket without pocket presence. Just an oxymoron at QB.
