If it's Arthur Smith I don't get why they wouldn't have announced it already, do they think Titans fans would think it was less of a sham hiring process if they wait 3 weeks from when LaFleur left to announce it. Maybe. That's one angle I've considered. "After thoroughly considering all our options and researching candidates and planning the direction of the offense, we've decided that our guy has been here all along!" The same principle applies to any candidate not in the playoffs though. Edited January 17, 2019 by tgo SuperFreak90
INTitan
I do know that Brian Schottenheimer’s family is in Nashville this week looking for houses. With that said, they lived in Nashville when he was the OC for NYJ. Seattle may be a bit far from their families (NC and FL). And I can’t imagine he wants to leave his situation with SEA. Also, I’m not sure if the lateral move rules apply here. But thought the timing of it was interesting nonetheless.

He has full play calling duties there, so he'd have to be released from his contract or it would have to be expiring for him to make a lateral move. Assistant coach contracts are almost always 2 or 3 years unless it's someone old like LeBeau or Pees considering retirement every year.
EagleEye
Someone who doesn't want to be a HC in at least 2 yrs. Gotta be someone old or a newbie who has no aspirations. Either way, it's not good.

He's lost some of his luster, but that was inevitable. No GM will hit all the time. Vrabel had a really impressive first season especially with the cards he was dealt (freak QB injury before the first half of the first game was played). We had to win 5 straight to go the playoffs and we nearly did. Who knows what happens if Mariota's injury doesn't get re-aggravated? Overall body of work is solid so far. I know some have an ax to grind and that's why they call the GM and coaches inept... @8MM Evans and Landry are going to be special for the defense next few years, the offense will come together, and who knows what players he'll get this year in the draft that will potentially help. 2018 was a weird year from the very first week of the season. It set the tone. Next year is going to be a good one.

I do have his cell # but I’ll wait until he is on the Titans staff. Great dude btw, glad to see he did well in SEA after his hiring wasn’t received well initially. japan
Is Kuharsky the only guy report on Arthur Smith? Would be funny if this whole thing was created by PK trying to outgun the national insiders.

Popular Post Stranger
I feel like it would inspire more confidence in the fan base if Smith was announced closer to the LaFleur hire in Green Bay than later. If they take too long to make it official then it really only feels like they weren't really sold on Smith and we're turned down by other candidates and then they had to settle for Smith. I like Smith and will support his promotion, but I feel like the Titans are handling this pretty poorly.
