OILERMAN
The curse continues ever since I started tracking tournaments in this thread. Built a big stack early, lost a big all in with AA against 88 preflop, guy rivers an 8. Then got knocked out with KQ, Q high flop I shove on this guys bet, He calls with Q-10 and turns a 10. OILERMAN
You can only deduct losses from winnings. Non issue as of now! But seriously, today 1st place was 600.00, one win or a few cashes would put me even. This is not even really an uncommon run. I'll go on runs like this then cash in 3 of 4 or something like that. That's why I like playing a limit cash game. The variance is lower.

OILERMAN
It's just the nature of tournament poker. Last night's 1st place paid 1250.00 and it only takes a few cashes to turn everything around. Usually you go through these brutal stretches and then you get lucky a few in a row. A friend of mine that plays a lot called me a few weeks ago and told me that he was done playing. He said he was the unluckiest player there was bottom line. That's really what all tournament players think. If you play good you will generally get knocked out with the best hand in some kind of bad beat. OILERMAN
Massive tournament series at Winstar this summer http://winstarworldcasino.com/uploads/model/Block/16789/pdf/5051/2012riverpokerseriesofficialrules.pdf The main event is 2100 and usually pays 600-700k. Also the satellites are awesome, they cost 440.00, but the top 50 make 500.00 plus 2100 in tournament chips.
SleepingTitan
I'll stick with cash games...
OILERMAN
I was headed to Winstar to play in a poker tourney today for the first time in a long while and my starter went out
Mercalius
You play much Razz O-Man? Over the last year, I've done better with it than Hold'em. The swings aren't nearly as bad, and it's generally easier to cash out sticking to a system.
OILERMAN
You ain't gonna find a razz game going outside of Vegas in a casino, and it's pretty hard to find one there. But no I don't play although I know the basic rules and strategy
