Dexter Lawrence

If he is a legit three down guy he makes perfect sense.  The problem I see is that these guys usually get exposed in the NFL against better blocking.  They can't simply overpower guys like they did in college and their slowness and lack of agility can be telling.  The best inside guys in the NFL learn how to avoid blocks more than taking them on where they can get stoned.  Brockers might be a good comparison.  Not a bad player but hardly spectacular.

Is he going to be playing RT for us?  Mountain of a man but I want to see his agility and explosiveness.

17. Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson

Here's the deal with Lawrence as it currently stands -- by looking at him, you'd think he's destined for a strict, two-down role at the NFL level. But the Clemson star is much more than a space-eating nose tackle. He moves tremendously well for his size, and he routinely deploys different pass-rushing moves en route to the quarterback or when he's disrupting a run play. His trump card is his bull rush, which almost always puts interior offensive linemen on skates. Lawrence is looking like a serious, well-rounded prospect. He dominated against Texas A&M.

Dodd had peaked?  Dodd was a late bloomer and apparently had issues between his ears along with the injuries.  Not sure that is the case with this kid.

I like Wilkins more.  He is stout against the run but can also get to the QB.  Casey 2.

We need our Casey Hampton or Haloti Ngata. The guy that you must double team. Nelson and company have changed the game. We will never beat the colts as long as they can gain 5 to 7 yards on first and second down. It just won't happen. If we are going to run a 3-4, we have to get our Casey Hampton or Haloti Ngata. It is that simple. God forbid they sign Leveon Bell! Sheeesh!

I would be surprised if he goes before 19, he is a huge run stuffing NT with limited pass rushing ability, would only be a two down player in the NFL.

He has also just copped a PED suspension that will see him miss the CFB playoffs, which will likely hurt his draft stock.

Not sure why quite a few people here want to use a premium pick on a 2 down player, there are going to be so many better defensive players for us to pick at #19.

Because every DC in the country would love a 2 down player that can help force teams into 3rd and long situations
