If they withheld his injury and played him even with a bum elbow then I don’t really care to root for that team. They should have shut him down. Really simple my dumb friends: going into Sunday the entire team thought he was playing. He practiced. He then threw at STSP. Why was he throwing the ball if the diagnosis was he couldn’t play? If any single one of you would like to answer that with a logical stance I’ll donate 100 dollars to the board. I think it came down to Marcus wanting to play, and there was a bit of a row about it between him, and Vrabel and the FO. So the FO brought in a spine specialist to the Sunday afternoon "workout" who convinced him to give it up. They called it a workout but for all we know it was nothing more than a teleconference between Marcus, Vrabel and the L.A. spine doc. Yeah, I saw from reporters that a workout at the team facility can even just be doing basic diagnostics like raising your arms, checking for numbness/tingling, etc. The fact that he did the "workout" at the facility and not at the stadium is a significant detail. It means he almost certainly wasn't actually going to play. oldschool, TitanDuckFan, and japan

BudsOilers
He was listed as questionable and was limited in practice all week. Even if some players/coaches thought he would play, there was always a good chance he wasn't going to. After all, they signed Davis on Monday and Mariota said on Wednesday he was still numb on his right side. Mariota pretty much said what happened. The LA doctor saw a new set of MRI's and recommended him not play. Who knows when that diagnosis from Watkins came in? Friday? Saturday? It makes sense to wait until the last possible moment to rule your QB out of a win or go home game.

I take it as a compliment that I’m not one of them. I actually enjoy my life. Anywho, $100 if you come up with some reason.

Marcus isn't enough of a talker and Vrabel wants to be able to disguise whether or not he's pulling a fast one on opposing coaches. It is what it is, and it's over. Sadly enough, so is the season. It's time to move on. Expecting more, based on shit said in the heat of the moment is unrealistic at best. It ain't THAT fucking important. OzTitan
So with a fractured vertebrae, to the extent it was made worse in the Redskins game and was bad enough to end his season, how long is the expected recovery time?

I have no idea how they would not shut him down with multiple nerve injuries and a fracture. I still don’t believe that’s what happened. If it did it doesn’t make any sense with how the franchise has tried their best to protect the guy after Whiz.
reo
Seems pretty obvious that MM wanted to play and was pushing to play but once the team got word that it could lead to further injury and possibly hurt his career, they shut him down. But he continued all week to try and show them he'd be fine until the final diagnosis came in. Seems like they've got his long term health in their plans and that's more important to them than 1 game.
