If we can trade down a handful of spots I would be game for Lindstrom or McCoy. McCoy’s work vs. Clemson and Alabama is exceptional.

No way he makes it to 51. He could be gone in the late 1st to Texans, Chiefs, or Packers.

People are basically saying there's "no way" pretty much any 1st or 2nd round OL makes it to our pick.

It's highly unlikely that every single one of the "top" interior OL are gone by our pick in the 2nd.

Last year people thought Landry would never make it to our first pick and we ended up picking him in the 2nd. This kind of thing happens every year, some people that are thought to be ranked lower go higher and some people that are thought to be ranked higher go lower.

I mean, how many OL are we expecting to get drafted in the first and 2nd rounds? 25?

Excellent, this could push him down a tad.

I don't know the details, but why wait so long for surgery? Maybe trying to see if it healed on is own?

we still need:

1 interior oline

1 dline

1OLB

1 S

1 WR and /or 1 TE

... thats pretty much it.

With.... time left in this FA period, 7 draft picks, UDFA,  and still another FA period to go to fill 5 possibly 6 spots.

This is where we want to be. More picks and available players than needs.

6 Draft picks, with the Tannehill trade we now don't have a 7th this year.

ahhh yeah.

so still.. 6 picks, UDFA, and lots of Free agency with good talent left to fill 5-6 needs.. and none of those needs are dire.

Easy because that way of thinking that you can just plug and play OL in later rounds in a old thought process.

Last year 8 Interior OL went in the 1st 50 picks (3 in the 1st round/5 in the second).

1st - 6th overall - Quinton Nelson - Colts

1st - 20th overall - Frank Ragnow - Lions

1st - 21st overall - Billy Price - Bengals

2nd - 33rd overall - Austin Corbett - Browns

2nd - 34th overall - Will Hernandez - Giants

2nd - 37th overall - Braden Smith - Colts

2nd - 39th overall - James Daniels - Bears

2nd - 50th overall - Connor Williams - Cowboys

So it 100% isn’t out of the realm of possibility that the top IOL guys (Bradbury, Ford, Lindstrom, McCoy) could all be gone before we even get to the 2nd round, nonetheless to 51.

Yeah but there are plenty of top OL outside of those 4 guys.

Dalton Risner, Connor McGovern (who we've shown a lot of interest in), Michael Jordan (Ohio State Connection), Elgton Jenkins, Ross Pierschbacher.

We've also shown a lot of interest in Michael Deiter who is more of a 3rd round guy.

Very true. There are definitely some decent guys that will be there in the 2nd or 3rd that we could go after. I like McGovern and Deiter a lot, but you also have to see who is a scheme fit. If they want athletic IOL then Bradbury, Lindstrom, and McCoy might be their targets because they translate so well into a ZBS. I’ve just been saying the value of IOL will start right around our pick in the 1st with those 3.

In a perfect world, if no OLB/DL are worth 19, I hope we trade down about 5 or 6 picks and pick one of the IOL. Hopefully that will give them an extra 2nd or 3rd to add additional defensive players where the depth of the draft is.
