The two situations couldn't be more dissimilar. Fitz started off the season on fire. He's also shown production in his career. Winston has been a turnover machine who has never made the playoffs. This is exactly it. Fitz has had such a weird career. You can't count on him as a long term starter but he's proven time again that he can actually carry a team for a few games. Inevitably it will come crashing down but when a guy is putting up 430/4 a game & the starter is returning from a month long suspension for sexually harassing a woman after infamously being accused of rape in college.....and then he starts turning the ball over like there's no tomorrow, it makes a little more sense then benching your QB who had an amazing playoff comeback last year & aside from a down 3rd year (which is debatable being that the 2 main analytic sites ranked him as the 6th & 7th best QB last year,  citing his horrific support) has had a pretty sterling first 3 years, for Blaine Gabbert, whose proven time & again that at best he's a half decent backup. 

 

The amazing part was the reasoning. Because he had a bad preseason.

 

In fairness though let's not put this all on Joel. There was a shit ton of retard going on 2 months ago......
