Couldve signed him instead of Gabbert during FA

Do we even know that Bridgewater would have signed anywhere he wasn't given a starting role, or at least a chance at one... It's not like he chose to back up Brees.

It's nonsense to think that just because he was on the market, he was willing to go to 32 teams.

Nah. His hands are too small.

At least we know he won’t over throw anyone because he can’t grip the ball. Guys like Gabbert who have strong arms and big hands over throw guys all the time.

We could have given him 3-5 million for one year vs the 1 million he got from NY and it wouldn’t matter. He woulda taken the money and the opportunity in preseason and regular season if and when MM misses time.

Then I still would had signed Daniel or Gabbert and ended up trading Bridgewater for a 3rd just like NY did. Brilliant move on their end.

He was set to make 5 million this year with the Jets. Wasnt guaranteed but 500k though. They only paid Gabbert 2.5 this year

Should've traded for Bridgewater

Bridgewater is just another Mariota...lot of ???

we should have gone after Alex Smith..let him start for a couple years and let Marcus back him up and become the starter in 2-3 yrs...he would only be about 27.

Why would he have signed here instead of New York where he was promised an opportunity to start?

The only way to have acquired Bridgewater would be through a trade.

No we couldn’t have. He was signing with a team that would give him a shot at starting.

Yea ands he ended up going to a team that used the 3rd pick on a QB and ended up trading him.  If he came to the Titans, with Mariota's reliability (like a Yugo) he probably gets some quality playing time.  Heck, he would have played nearly a half in the last game and we might win.  If he was good enough and Mariota couldn't stay healthy and or played poorly they could let Mariota go (and not pay the $21 mil) and sign Teddy as our QB (for about 3 years for the same $21 mil).

Either way Teddy went to a team that was most assuredly going to use their 3rd pick in the draft on a QB.  Even with Teddy's real good pre-season they opted to play the rookie.

By paying him more than NYJ.

I think it's highly likely he would've chosen the better starting opportunity at the time. And we'd have had to pay him a *lot* of money for a backup.
