A dominant pass rusher is exactly what I expect

I dunno, more often than not a college player putting in work with great technique becomes a solid but not dominant pro.

Sounds like a DE version of Tajae Sharpe

And he doesn't HAVE to start right away. It's a perfect scenario for him. As a rookie, he can play to his strengths, and then get a full offseason before needing to be the starter. It gives us flexibility to let Rak or Morgan go, if they start to decline. If they don't, we end up with a wicked rotation in 2019, keeping everyone fresh for pass rush downs.

This makes no sense at all.  This is a kid with loads of athletic talent and explosion trying to make himself better.  You talk like he is a dud athlete that is only having a chance with great technique (Sharpe).

Watching the video, he showed a lot of skills.   I like the pick.  But.  The opposite QB consistently made plays.  Landry was winning battles while his team was losing the war.

Am always hesitant to overrate the valiant loss.  He'll be a good player but Super Bowl MVP is a stretch.

Happy to be wrong here.  Watching the video, it kept being an odd juxtaposition.  Landry puts a great move on the RT, QB throws for a first down.

All you can do is beat your man which he does a lot in the video. The BC OC probably game planned away from Landry too. The college to pro transition of pass rushers is hard to predict. I get the feeling that some good coaching could turn Landry into a Freeny type guy because his technique is so good.

Watson was an amazing QB in college and Boston College was unranked.  It shouldn't be a surprise that one DE, even a great one, can't singlehandedly win games when coverage is consistently breaking down and you're up against a really good QB.

Landry put up big time production in college and has some elite traits.  He needs to bulk up a little with some NFL strength and conditioning,  and he needs to work on tackling and he could stand to develop some as an advanced pass rusher but he has huge potential.  Coaching will be critical and so you just have to hope that Dean Pees, Shane Bowen, and Terrell Williams can help develop him.

Are you even reading what you're saying?

A college QB calmly throwing a 53 yard play action TD is not the best evidence of a disruptive pass rush.  That's the first example.  And it continues.  Until Landry gets hurt.

If Josh Jackson can eat Harold Landry's lunch, then so will many other NFL QBs.  Landry's a good pickup but there's some hyperbole going on.
