Downtown
Richie James in the later rounds. That is all.

Now if Landry falls or a similar top notch edge rusher take them, because one of these good WRs will be available in round 2 unless there is a ridiculous run on WR. GLinks
I keep trying to figure out if the Titans like Michael Gallup in round 2 or 3. His tape is nice, he has nuance in his routes and even his hand usage. FWIW, PFF has him ranked highest of all the receivers, and he is on the list. socaltitan
I'd definitely rather have Ridley than Hubbard if it came down to it. Still would prefer not to go WR in round 1 if we can. XAEA12
XAEA12
My guess is at some point we see WR, OLB, S, RB are almost all guaranteed with ILB if the right one comes along. That's 5 of the 6 picks right there
XAEA12
At the time Taylor was drafted I was pretty happy. That said, now that time has passed I can evaluate things more dispassionately. I liked drafting Taylor bc it was a relief that it was acknowledged we had a serious need at WR. But last year's WR draft class sucked (Davis was the only WR I truly loved of the whole class) and that's why there was a run on WRs. There is always a run on positions that aren't deep (for instance there is an expected run at LB this year). Taylor was a need pick bc we had nothing at WR behind Matthews and the rookie Davis. Taylor's college tape is not as good as his stats and measurables. Good athleticism, but no route complexity. Good tape but not exactly impressive. There are a lot of guys who are better prospects this year with comparable measurables but better tape. I'd take any of these guys over Taylor and hope we draft at least one, maybe even two. If this class is a sign of things to come from WRs moving forward we are going to have to match talent. Calvin RIdley Keke Coutee Simmie Cobbs Trequan Smith DJ Moore Dante Pettis Courtland Sutton Anthony Miller DJ Chark Michael Gallup Equanimeous St. Brown Jaleel Scott Ridley and Moore's route running, speed, and production are sick. If either are on the board and we pass on them I'm gonna be pissed. But all these guys are incredibly impressive, they blow away Taylor and Sharpe and could immediately be the #3 WR. And with so many WRs some of these guys will fall to maybe even 4th round or later unless there is a big run on them in the 3rd which is what I'm predicting. I'd even take a look at Richie James who I view as comparable to Taylor but shiftier, quicker WR and also not very polished. Mythos27
Finally got through watching all the relevant WR prospects. I think Simmie Cobbs Jr. is clearly the best WR in the class. I know he ran a 4.64 at the combine but he simply plays much faster than that. I think he's a legitimate #1 receiver. I'm just some guy on a message board but for the life of me, I can't understand why he's not being spoken of more. He's projected to go in the middle rounds an if we take him, I don't see us needing to draft a receiver for quite a while. Just judging by the highlight video: You have a 3 minute highlight video , which is suppose to be his best plays, with not one single catch where he burned the defender. Looks more like a red-zone possession type receiver, whose going to have separation issues in the NFL. XAEA12
japan
This WR class is so bad that that is why guys like Watkins are being paid crazy money.

That's like saying the QB class is bad so QBs are being overpaid. WRs are overpaid because the position is now at a premium. A vet in the hand is worth 2 rookies in the bush considering even the best roomies need adjustment time. It's not a knock on this year's draft class. I left him off the list because of concerns of how his athleticism may translate to the next level - he doesn't get a lot of separation so that's a bit of a concern against NFL DBs. He also doesn't have the stats but Penn State isn't know to be a powerhouse offense. He certainly shows more polish and nuance to his game than Taylor does already.
