Episode 145 - Hobbled Mariota Leads Titans to Victory in Prime Time

Recommended Posts

Jonboy

The Tennessee Titans got a big win on Monday Night Football over the Indianapolis Colts, led by a hobbled Marcus Mariota. Unfortunately, the Titans still got off to a slow start and found themselves down 10 early in the 3rd. They stormed back to tie the game and eventually the lead. But which team is the real Titans? At 3-3, should fans take a glass half-full approach to what's transpired this season?

Great podcast so far, I am 30 minutes into it (drive to work)

I had the same reaction as Scotty hearing Mariota compared to McNair for toughness, sorry, I like Marcus a hell of a lot but he's no where near there yet.

I will donate $10 towards troubleshooting and possibly upgrading Scotty's audio quality. I have this image of him being on a speaker phone, 1/2 reclined with his feet up on his desk with his head about 4 feet away from the speaker. We need a headset that keeps the mic in place at all times.

That whole last sentece could be rewritten by one of the board's members to be extremely vulgar. Challenge on!

Cheers, Tex.

I know McNair is legendary for his toughness but he had his share of missed games.  He had to be tough because he was often hurt and would have missed even more.

As for this game it looked like Mariota could hardly move but still had one of his best games of his career.

To be fair, I never said he was anywhere close to McNair’s toughness overall yet. We saw McNair do it so many times.

I said this was a McNair-like performance.

I remember McNair having a broken leg like Mariota had and he still played ran for 100 yards.  Don't remember the actual game or year but he is a legend so I know it must have happened......

I bet we could start a new thread that goes on for 10 pages with people arguing who is tougher, better.  Who cares?  What Mariota did was pretty incredible and he is our current QB.  As for McNair I also remember him missing half the 1999 season.  Good thing we had a decent back up QB that year.  In all honesty McNair was tough but he had to be or he would have missed 1/2 a careers worth of games.  He was always hurt.

Frank Wycheck just said they need to pump the brakes on Mariota's toughness when compared to McNair.

Frank listened to the show?!

OILERMAN

Cossel talked about Watson against the Brown and said he played poorly. Said the Browns had defensive breakdowns everywhere and Watson threw to wide open WRs, he actually said he'd never seen WRs so open.

Yes, I can't recall what all he said. Mainly talked about all the miscommunications and defensive breakdowns

I've never seen wide open receivers in the NFL worse than Titans - Texans, only watched part of the Browns game. McCourty looked good, must be back to 100% healthy.

Good episode! My only critique is that maybe next time @OILERMAN doesn’t turn on his microphone and then walk to the other side of the room to record the podcast :4_joy: Use your Millions and Millions from the stock market to Get one of these.
