NFL owners considering implementing rule that requires players to stand

Recommended Posts

I guess they are starting to or scared to start feeling this hit their pockets in a bad way.

Of course they'll do it for the money, right? But not for the moral responsibility of what's right.

So all of you that hated Trump for his comment, and defended these disrespectful fuckers, now yall can be the ones to boycott the NFL for not allowing them to do this BS.

MOD EDIT: It's actually a slight tweak of an existing rule.

I must have missed the philosophy class that covered standing as an act of morality.

It's dumb as shit to make a rule but how about the topic of the business classes that cover doing what's in the best interest to keep your demographic happy?

The real issue is why idiots are so upset at players kneeling, but that doesn't matter to the owners though

Well, if your company was getting paid millions of dollars for the employees to stand during a song post presentation and a bunch of you decided to kneel in protest for something that was happening in society, you would probably get in trouble too.

These players ARE AT WORK.

Interesting that it's actually been in the NFL policy manual this whole time...

The NFL's game operations manual states that during the anthem “players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking … It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country.

"Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses."

The key word in the policy is "should" rather than "must," which has kept the door open for players to kneel or sit during the anthem as a form of protest. The NFL also has not levied fines through the first five weeks of the season toward players and teams that haven't followed the anthem rules.

Do you understand what philosophy is and can you define morality, or should we start with those before I tell you how stupid the rest of your point is?

It really must be an interesting experience live life as a stupid, gullible and angry person all at the same time - to have no personal values that form a firm construct for your worldview, only a ceaselessly paranoid flexibility that allows you to believe in anything as evil so long as you can mentally contort it into a threat... or, more likely, have it contorted for you so that you can dispense with all thought beyond adoption of what's presented.

How does one even define himself and his relationship with the world and existence from that perspective?

Oh, like ppls reaction towards Trump? Gotcha.

Let me ask you, if standing before the Flag during the playing of the national anthem was never done out of respect, why is it done at all then?

And if we stood for the Flag out of respect to those American heros, how is kneeling before it to make a point about something that has nothing to do with those heros, not viewed as disrespectful?

Honest question. Two parter. Have you ever stood for the Flag during the playing of the NA? I'm sure you have. So why did you stand for it?
