They don't have to worry about not being able to beat the warriors. The question is can they get passed the lakers or clippers?? I'm far more worried about the Clippers than the Lakers right now. They're 1 of 3 teams that the Rockets have had problems with in the playoffs. Obviously the Warriors have given them the most problems over the past 5 years, going just 7-16 against them. They're also 2-4 against the Spurs. San Antonio may miss the playoffs for the first time in over 20 years, so the only other team that has given the Rockets any problem is the Clippers. They came back from a 3-1 deficit to beat them a few years ago. Against the Mavs, Thunder, Wolves, and Jazz they're a combined 20-5 in the postseason. That was all during Golden State's dynasty when Houston was eliminated by them on four different occasions. Luckily that won't happen again in 2020. This might be his best chance at a chip. Probably his best chance since they couldn't count on Chris Paul to stay healthy when they had the Warriors on the ropes two years ago down 3-2. But next season his chances should be just as good with everybody coming back, except maybe for Austin Rivers. But he'll be replaced by David Nwaba. Jeff Green has been really good, and he will likely be more than willing to return for the vet minimum in 2021, like he has played for the past three seasons. Tyson Chandler and DeMarre Carroll are free agents, but they're not even in the rotation. Who knows, they might even add another good vet or two next year. Oiler FANatic
The additions of John Wall, Christian Wood, and Boogie Cousins will be fun to watch this season for Rockets fans. They're a much younger team now with only one player over the age of 31 (Tucker) unless Gerald Green makes the team (which is unlikely).
