Trump doesn't have to pardon himself because a sitting president can't be indicted... He could pardon his family and stuff though. Once he's out of office he could be indicted. Maybe he'll resign at t

Mueller is the special counsel appointed by the Justice Department to investigate Russian election meddling and alleged collusion by members of the Trump campaign.

Bloomberg reports the counsel is probing purchases from Russian buyers at Trump properties, the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow, a SoHo development involving Russian associates and Trump's 2008 sale of a Florida mansion to a Russian oligarch.

"Those transactions are in my view well beyond the mandate of the special counsel," Trump’s lawyer John Dowd said in a statement to Bloomberg.

I don't see any way Trump can stop it.

How do you think the GOP congress will react if Trump tries to fire Mueller for delving into the family finances?

They won't do a damn thing

So the way I understand it, because the DOJ is a separate entity acting independently of the White House, Trump technically can't fire Mueller, correct?

Rosestein (or however it's spelled. Too lazy to look up) would have to fire him. Sessions has refused himself. But he won't which means Trump would have to fire him. Then order the next person to do it. If they don't then fire that person and continue down to chain until someone does it. That's what Nixon did.

He might also be able to fire Sessions and nominate some one who'll do it that hasn't recused himself. But getting someone confirmed that doesn't recuse himself might be hard.. and it'd take time and I'm not sure if Trump has that kind of time.

What? There would simply be an acting AG until a confirmation goes through with the person having full authority of the office.

So he pisses Sessions off and demeans him in front of the entire country yesterday. Smart.

Didn't Rosenstein already say he would not fire Mueller?
