This guy doesn't get the credit he deserves because he's on such a good overall team.   Wilson currently has 8 passing TDs to 1 INT, he has a 113 passer rating and is completing 70% of his p

Mariota could become the second player to do this with a 500-yard 5 TD performance this week!

Russell Wilson is carrying an offense like no QB has ever carried an offense:   Wilson is not only the Seahawks’ leading rusher with 401 yards on 65 carries, he is also on pace to set career

Pretty funny tweet considering the views on this board about college QB's, offenses, and Russell Wilson.

I would definitely read his full article on it before making any assumptions about how quality of QB play factors into this "college based" offense.

So Russ plays in a ....wait for it.....

Simplified offense ??

Did you even read the article? Where does it mention a simplified offense?

"For a long time, offenses in the NFL have been based on designed plays and execution, and defenses based on deception and disruption. I'm not an expert on the intricacies of college offenses, but I'm seeing some of the principles in the NFL, and those principles are rooted in the offenses wanting to deceive and disrupt the defense. The Seahawks do that more than anyone in the NFL, even more than Philadelphia and Chip Kelly's offense.

The Seahawks are not running a lot of basic plays and trying to out-execute the defense. They force you to defend the field horizontally, and they put you in position with all their backfield movement and actions that the defenders can't trust their eyes. There's so much deception within their offense. "

I have changed my tune on Wilson. As recently as the Super Bowl I thought he was a QB that was made to look a lot better because of who he plays for. I remember arguing with @Face and @abenjami about this. I think he's actually the most important player on the Seahawks now and not just someone that is winning because he's on a great team. He is part of the reason that the Seahawks are great. I'm not sure how good the Seahawks would be or if they'd even be a playoff team is Tarvaris Jackson was starting or if they'd held onto Matt Flynn.

I'd still take Luck over him but I don't think it's a stretch to say that Wilson is a top 5 QB. Honestly, you could make a case right now that the top 5 QB's in football are Manning, Rodgers, Rivers, Luck and Wilson. I'm not sure if given the choice between Brees and Wilson I'd take Brees anymore.

Another thing. In general, I despise dual threat QB's. Wilson to me is an exception. He NEVER gets hurt, never puts himself in harm's way and runs to set up the throw and only actually runs when he has to or when he's given such a cushion that he can't help it. I don't think it's a stretch to say that as a running QB there's never been a smarter runner. Even Steve Young used to get hurt.

So, Seattle as a whole is not quite what they were a year ago and Wilson's no longer a very solid QB? They run very simple route concepts(not Wilson's fault), they have very mediocre wr's(not Wilson's fault), and we're all supposed to strip him of two years of solid playoff performances? Don't think any of us said he was better than Rogers, Brady, Manning? Wilson is a very solid QB.

Title is not "Wilson's a solid qb" its "Wilson's an elite qb"

Seattle gonna be bad in a few years when they gotta hand him the biggest qb contract ever

I agree that Seattle is having a down year, a big reason why is because referees are no longer allowing them to get away with mugging opposing wide receivers (though it should be noted that they're still 3rd overall in defense and second vs. the pass). But you can also argue that a QB makes his wide receivers. Look at how many receivers who were nobodies until Peyton Manning started throwing to them
