I'm not some prude that wants to forbid endzone celebrations but I think the mother's letter was articulate, on point, and reasonable from a parental perspective.  I was expecting something completely outrageous.

This is dumb. Do your job as a parent. Your child is going to have to learn to assess the behavior of other human beings and decide what is or isn't wrong. Your child is also going to have to determine when action on their part is or isn't appropriate. A real adult can like or dislike Cam Newton without vomiting another think piece into the echo chamber. Why don't you just say to your child that he isn't a role model and move on?

Now this kid is going to grow up to be the kind of asshole who writes a letter to the FCC because there are gay dads in a cheerios commercial. Fuck.

This is lame. Trust me lady, if the worst thing your child is exposed to in life is Cam Newton's TD dance she's going to be OK.

A lot of parent's are really annoying, they expect everybody to bend over backwards to accommodate their kids. Take them to a football game? Some people are going to curse. You don't like it? Don't bring em. 3 weeks ago I went out to a nice dinner, an expensive dinner, and a couple had their 2 kids with them & they were screaming & wailing at the top of their lungs. Finally some woman of about 60 asked the parents to take the kids outside or leave, they were trying to enjoy their dinner. Everybody was aghast. 'MY GOD.....THEIR KIDS!!!! Everything revolves around kids". Fuck that. This lady paid a lot of money, like I did, to enjoy a nice steak & some wine. The operative word is enjoy, which she obviously didn't. Parents need to stop burdening the rest of the world with their kids.

Like how did this lady even summon the energy to write this pitiful piece?  And to use her child as a crutch to push her ideas of how the world should be. If she was concerned about her daughters exposure to such things she should not have taken her to the game where I'm sure fans were saying much worse things than Cam Newton dancing because his team was winning. Get. A. Grip.

Our society is obsessed with the wants and needs of kids. It's unhealthy. This woman is an idiot, and so is Cam Newton.

This is one of my real gripes with society today, it's bizarre & unhealthy, like you said, to put kids on such a pedestal. It's like people think if they get yelled at or smacked in the ass by a parent, or reprimanded by an adult, that they're going to have life long trauma or something.

There's also this new attitude amongst young parents where they feel that everybody else is obligated to help and/or deal with their kids. I can't tell you how many times I see a kid running around & screaming while the parent does nothing, it's like "Fuck you, I'm a parent & it's tough. You can deal with it for a few minutes". My dad is re-married & his wife's son, my step brother, just had a daughter with his wife. 1st kid. The wife says to him, right in front of his mother, if you want a 2nd kid your mother is going to have to stop going to Florida so much. Seriously, That's how it is now, people feel their parents are obligated to do their work for them. Fuck you, she did her time & raised 2 kids. It's time for her to relax. The goddamn nerve.
