The deniers, whether they know it or not, are insisting that a vast, all encompassing conspiracy is affront in ever country, in every major climate group, involving the overwhelming majority of the worlds climate scientists, over the last several decades. That's more idiotic and implausible than 911 conspiracies. To deny, you are either ignorant of the science, or you some kind of right wing or fundamentalist fucking asshole who thinks we can't fuck up the Earth because Yahweh won't let it happen or because that's not what Revelation says or whatever. Even if we are raising the temp, what are we supposed to do about it at this juncture? Sure, keep throwing money into R&D, and hopefully we will come up with a better solution to powering the world. But there isn't one at the moment. Coal and fossil fuels are still by far the most viable production for electricity and energy. Nuclear is as well, but nuclear power plants are more dangerous than climate change, at least in as much as an immediate disaster. What is the point of continuing to hammer coal companies when the Chinese would laugh at the notion of curbing their imprint? Use more damned solar panels and we'd make a huge dent in our energy needs. Even ignoring our ability to store that energy for later use, if businesses simply put solar panels on their roofs then most of them could meet a huge percent of their daytime electricity needs right there. Electric cars extend that ability yet again for personal transportation. No one said we can just stop using fossil fuels immediately.
