  1. I love these nature videos. This Impala is giving birth while these wild dogs attack.....
  2. I recently started cycling. I rode a bike most of my childhood. We were told to "go outside and make sure you're home by dark." I love riding a bike. Recently, I took up cycling. I started in Oct. I've also started cutting back on calories -- although I make bike ride days sort of cheat days. I've accomplished so much more than weight loss unexpectedly. It's surprisingly cathartic and helps with mental health. On days that I ride, I'm so much more relaxed afterwards. Have any of you taken up cycling or joined a club? It's hard to beat as a hobby because it's scenic, cathartic, and burns 2-3x more calories than walking/hiking, and it's low impact on joints. You can literally do this longer than golf. 45 mins = 400-500 cals depending on the route.
  3. This nut with a knife had the officer pinned down.
  4. Anyone live in the Round Rock / Austin area? Any feedback on how things are there? Considering a move to the area from San Diego, CA.
  5. SCOTUS will hear Moore v. United States in December to determine if the "Buy Borrow Die" strategy of the rich can continue. Essentially, they buy investments and hold them. In the case of stocks, you only pay taxes when you cash out, but you can borrow against the holdings without being taxed. Personally, I think the 16th Am. clearly gives Congress the authority to tax these unrealized gains, because it says "from whatever sources derived." They can also stand on the Commerce Clause. Congress can almost do anything if it involves the dollar. It's their dollar. I get taxed on property that I haven't sold. Stocks are property too. https://thehill.com/homenews/4323743-supreme-court-moore-tax-case/
  6. You've got to give Elon Musk credit for pushing the envelope when it comes to design, but the back half of the truck is ugly. The front angles are pretty dope. The glass breaking during the demo was hilarious and exposes Musk's MO for outrageous claims that often are untrue.
  7. Went and saw it early yesterday morning. Really enjoyed it. Long though. Don’t want to spoil anything for anyone that hasn’t. If you are a fan of the Marvel movies there is a lot to like. There was only once scene that I thought was really forced and wasn’t needed.
  8. https://www.howardluksmd.com/zone-2-hr-training-live-longer-less-injury/ Something I've been playing around with these past 6ish months. It's been both interesting and frustrating.
  9. These idiots called my job and said to pay up now and that the debt has been sold and I’m going to be sued and taken to court that they have filed 3 charges against me trying to stress and scare me.. anyone know what I should do? Isn’t illegal to call my place of work looking for unpaid debt. I know they’re trying to scare me into paying them but I’m barely getting by after my cancer diagnosis
  10. lately I’ve felt very deep depression, sadness. Where all I want to do is sleep. I come here because this feels more like family than anything even complete strangers. Even after battling stomach cancer going through all that, I feel like dying would have been easier. Even when sick I had a good job and people always took advantage of the nice guy I could never say no. I gave and gave to people and those same people when I needed something now aren’t there. I supported a woman who I loved, I gave her my whole bank account paying her bills, so she could go through school and study, who couldn’t even visit me in the hospital but I let it go, I’m not one to confront people. I don’t find joys in everyday life, I’ll have good days where I’m exicted for football and then down right days I wish I could just sleep and never wake up. It’s sad how shitty people are towards you when you’re nothing but nice to them. I guess this is like a break point for me where I come here because this feels like family more than anything. I want to end my life but what keeps me going is knowing I would upset my family even as complicated as relationship I had with them I wouldn’t want to know their suffering but some days it feels so easy. I’m tired of being walked over and used by people I gave everything to and they have no heart or respect or even warmth towards you as if they expect it. Some days it’s hard when you hold it all inside and pretend to carry a smile but inside you feel emptiness
  11. Ive been waiting on a Moon Knight project for forever. So I'm really pumped about this. I even have his first appearance with a decent high grade on it.
  12. I have not joined Disney+ yet, but the 1st episode got a good review: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/11/the-mandalorians-first-episode-is-a-no-brainer-reason-to-pay-for-disney/
  13. Official Teaser Trailer: Looks promising. Henry Cavill being in it is definitely a draw for me. Loved his take on Superman and I've liked everything else I've seen of his since The Count of Monte Cristo. I don't know what to expect from this since I've never read the books, but I never read ASOIAF either and GOT hooked me instantly. For the people who've read the books this show is going to be based off of, how does this trailer impact your expectations for the show?
  14. I love cheese. I guess you could say that it's my chocolate. I don't think I've ever tasted a cheese that I didn't like. Right now, I'm really digging Manchego. Any odd cheeses you would recommend?
  15. Is this the right forum? @titaninpgh just called out Jamal for pushing a thread from NFL into OT made by Benji. He then actually merged the thread back into the NFL forum and shut the thread down lol. Since we are in OT what is your guys idea of the walls closing in like they are on Jamal? I’m thinking this might be him. TL;DR: 1st time here. Family, Work and Life all suck. No therapy for a few days. The walls are closing in. Help? I’m on my mid-30s have been in and out of therapy for my anxiety over the last 20 or so years. I am seeing a therapist regularly but switching to phone sessions in the time of the pandemic just isn’t the same. Plus, my last session was a few days ago and my next one is not for a few more days and I’m struggling with the feeling that the walls are closing in on me.
  16. Sweden was the first country in the world to prohibit all forms of physical child discipline in 1979. Here is a noticed event. https://sverigesradio.se/artikel/4694102 So, they don't practice physical discipline at al (well there are off course child abusers, but looking at the whole) and they are quite a well mannered and non violent people. What do you think on the issue? The guy above got away lightly. If he had been a swede social services would probably have taken his kids. Does it create more violence in people?
  17. Just saw it. Cant blame Rian Johnson anymore for the demise of Star Wars. It's almost as bad as the last jedi which I didnt think would be possible. Disney needs to stop making Star Wars movies and reset the creative direction of the franchise. They have destroyed it with the past two movies.
  18. With the caveat of everything in moderation..... What is your favorite snack or sweet that must be gotten every so often? I have two..... I love salty pretzels with one of my new drinks of choice CELSIUS Fitness Drink Variety Pack, Zero Sugar, 12oz. Slim Can (Pack of 12) If you havent tried these, they are GREAT. And for my cheat day, nothing beats a custard filled long john donut..... I used to love Cherry Garcia but tried some last year and it just wasn't as good as I remember. The Ben and Jerry's flavor I really miss is Oatmeal Cookie Chunk. My waistline is happy it's gone but the rest of me misses it a lot! We all have those go to items.....what are yours
  19. Current news is reporting the virus is surging in India, with some cities having to burn so many bodies, the night skies are lit up: https://apnews.com/article/health-india-religion-coronavirus-c644fc9eb09beb04e16d0215a6693886 India's prime minister seems to be a religious/ethnic supremacist and an autocrat/dictator. He has already gobbled up unprecedented power in India. This crisis could allow him to siege even more power. He was already instrumental in the brutal killing of Muslims in India in the early 2000s, with his action directing the violence so strong, he was banned from travel to Europe and US for a time period. If he sieged more power, he might strike out at Pakistan. This article, published in July 2020, goes over Modi's power grab, warning with: "At the moment, as in other states, the wider structures of a democratic system still exist and limit the prime minister’s scope to move in a more openly authoritarian direction. However, most likely he will still try, drawing inspiration from how Viktor Orban has been able to create what is in effect a dictatorship in Hungary. To achieve this, Modi will need an apparent crisis that justifies a shift to open authoritarianism. This should worry everyone—the traditional source of major crises for India is either internal ethnic unrest or war with its neighbors." https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/07/13/modi-india-hindutva-hindu-nationalism-autocracy/
