  1. Well worth watching. It is nonstop entertainment. The movie is packed with nuance. I missed some of the little tangents because I was still enjoying the segment I just watched. 94%
  2. Have a story for y’all. My wife’s best friend works in show business in New Zealand. Let’s call this friend Tonya (not her real name). Previously she was a set painter, now she does stunt work. Tonya looks kind of like Zoe Bell. Tonya is driving along, minding her business, when this car stops up in the intersection. A dude gets out and starts pointing a gun at her yelling. First thing she does is immediately duck behind the steering wheel. Then she peeks back and the dude is still menacing her. Something clicks in her head and she’s like - not today. She slams on the gas, hits the dude, breaks the door off his car. Then she’s speeding along and thinks - this is not a movie. This is real life. She might of just killed this dude. So she stops and waits for the police. The police arrive. The dude isn’t dead. The dude gets up and menaces the police with the gun. The cops shoot the assailant in the hand and detain him. Then they surround her car, guns out, and command her to step away from the vehicle. The police get her story, realize she acted in self defense, and it all calms down. Here’s the funny thing. Dude didn’t have a real gun! He had an airsoft pistol. He menaced someone in a car aka an actual deadly weapon. He menaced the cops. And both times got completely fucked up. Considered putting this in the Real Nature thread, was hilarious. Someone fucked around and quickly found out. Not today!
  3. It’s been long rumoured that Terrifier 3 would open with a kid getting slaughtered on camera. It was further fuelled when studio funding was pulled. Looks like we got confirmation! Should be a TR all timer!
  4. It's a broad genre. I went w/ The Game but there are probably a ton better and i had trouble thinking of others. What's yours? If I get a ton of youtube vids of flashmobs dancing to the song Thriller, i'm gonna fill this board w/ bad memes
  5. What are your favorite movies from your childhood? #1. Predator. I was 11 (my birthday is at the end of the year) in 1987 when Predator came out. Over the year’s following it’s release, my cousin and I probably watched that movie a hundred times. To this day, I can quote it verbatim. #2. Return of the Jedi. I believe I saw it before I saw the first two (IV and V in the canon). #3. Halloween. First scary movie I watched; a few years after it was released (my parents weren’t sadist). I do remember going to a video store and them renting a beta max for Halloween III (if I recall correctly). They also rented the expensive VCR when it first came out. We were poor. #4. Superman. I liked them all. I remember going to a drive in with the family (can’t remember which one) and a storm came through and we had to leave. Hank Williams Jr. did a promo for MNF at that drive in before they tore it down. Now, it’s a Lowe’s. #5. Willow. The last movie said cousin and I saw at that particular theater in my hometown. It’s now an American Legion. #6. Road Warrior. Didn’t even know there was a Mad Max movie before this one until years later. Didn’t much care for Thunder Dome. The latest installment with Tom Hardy was ok. *Side note*, Tom is a great actor, Bane, Lawless, Warrior all great performances. #7. Exorcist. Still scares the shit out of me. #8. Godfather I and II. II was the best with Pacino and De Niro. III sucked. #9. Event Horizon. Yeah, ok actors, but the premise was spot on. #10. Aliens Franchise. “In Space, no one can hear you scream”.
  6. Guru needs to add a dumb shit tag. https://wpde.com/news/nation-world/white-people-shouldnt-see-new-black-panther-movie-on-opening-weekend-says-influencer-violet-vixen-thee-lavynder-lee-wakanda-forever-marvel-comic-superhero It cost 200M to produce the new Wakanda movie. Now, some jackass says white people should not go see the movie the first weekend if they are really woke. All the theaters should be filled with blacks only. They should buy tickets to the movie and give them to po black people.
  7. And Aliens kicks both their asses. This is all the same people. James Cameron. And now Avatar is playing in the theaters again. What a joke. I know it’s a money grab. But can you imagine if they played Aliens again in the theater? I’d be there every day. Sigourney Weaver Is the movie love of my life. And Michael Biehn is the totally super awesome. And Linda Hamilton is beautiful.
  8. Jurassic World: Dominion is very well done. It's not a cheap remake with some twists, they take time to build a believable fantasy time traveling story of how a bunch dangerous ass dinosaurs living in Isla Sorna in 1993 moved from there to America in 2022, in just 30 years. Fun movie!!
  9. The worst movie of the year? A complete fuck you satire to WB for making them make another movie? I can't even count the ways this movie pissed me off. It was getting so high I realized at one point it was likely intentional. WB was going to make another film regardless... but they were contractually obligated to offer it to the original crew first. so what are the odds some of the old crew got together and we're like " ya know what, fuck ye... we are going to completely make a joke so that no one will want anything Mattix related ever again" Such a damn shame what they did with this possibly great franchise. The original was of course one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time... the animatrix was incredible and creative and something that could really have expanded the universe. The second two movies were forced and not that great but at least they made some sense. This movie though... it's like they got Adam Sandler's movie making class (plus some random under 20's on Reddit) to hack together a movie for for fall finals then handed it over to the movie studio execs and asked them to just add whatever they wanted to fit market analysis. Ignoring that I was a fan of the first one... I give it 4 out of 5 goatsees and 8.9 out of 10 tubgirls. What an utter shit mess.
  10. Idk why, but I wasn't expecting much from this movie. The casting seemed to be a little too "dream teamy" and the only familiarity I had with the lead actor (Timothy whatever) was his annoying character in the 2nd season of Homeland. It seemed a little overwrought and plodding at the start (probably because I didn't know anything about the story/plot), but I got more and more into it as it went on. I was pretty invested into the characters by the time it ended. I've seen people complain about the ending, but it felt appropriate considering how the events before it unfolded. It was a familiar ending. I'd mention another movie's ending that if reminded me of, but I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who plans on seeing it. Who else has seen it/plans to see it?
  11. SQUID GAME is a new series on Netflix. It goes off the edge of playing games. I think @9 Nines probably wrote it or has some part in it. I like it. It's Korean. I prefer to subtitle english and listen in original sound tract, NO SPOILERS PLEASE
  12. #1. Tombstone #2 Unforgiven #3 Open Range Modern Day: The last 25 years. Not the spaghetti westerns with Clint or the earlier years with Wayne. Hateful 8 and Remake of the Magnificent 7 are 4 and 5
  13. I'm trying to give this show a shot, but after watching the first two episodes, I'm losing interest.
  14. I'm not gonna lie. I LOVED that movie. It had enough plot to actually tell enough of a story but it knew exactly what it was going for. I knew it was going to be good when the opening credits basically turn into a March Madness type bracket with Godzilla and Kong matching up in the championship.
  15. For anyone who does, you might be amused by many of the reviews on certain movies there. There are so many right-wing fuckwads on Netflix, it's hilarious. It's like everything that comes out of "liberal Hollywood" always has some sort of hidden political agenda and it's these people's raison d'être to expose this conspiracy.
