Hall Of Famer

Hall Of Famer (5/5)

  1. I think a big part of the issue was there was no "they" when the decision was made to trade up to get him. Should have extended Tannehill or gone in another direction at the QB position prior to the draft. Instead they went into the draft with Willis...who Vrabel probably thought he could win with...and Tannehill on the last year of his deal and only getting older. Ran was kinda forced to get a QB that had at least some potentiial to be the guy this year. I don't think it was what Vrabel wanted and he was the one who was actually thinking that Willis still could actually be the #2.
  2. I consider the ABT crowd to be the ones that wanted to move on from Tannehill last off-season...but I get where it applies to those who never liked Tannehill.
  3. I was just trying to envision this board being in agreement on Levis at the end of the season and how outlandish that seemed. Maybe if we win the superbowl but even then there will be a few probably wanting to start over at the QB position
  4. the ABTers were absolutely right. Tannehill was awful last year. You don't need to compare him to Levis to try to prove that.
  5. dude just picked a bad time to suck it up its a shame really cause he's so good
  6. if they didn't believe in Levis than you are right.....of course thats not the case...but that doesn't necessarily mean they believe in him fully either I think the decision to sit at 7 and pick a highly rated LT or WR as opposed to trying to trade up to get a QB makes a lot of sense even if your not completely sure about the QB you currently have. Factoring in the shit you gotta give up to move up vs building up your roster that has a lot of needs. I don't believe in Levis but I think it's the right thing to do...get a solid LT or dynamic WR (hopefully) and let Levis get a shot....cause you never know....Mr Irrelevant just got his team to the SB.
  7. I think there are very few that can step right into the roll of a starting QB in the NFL. there are plenty more that can do it but need time to figure it out and sitting won't get them there. They need to play and develop. Teams will always struggle to identify these guys cause most of them have never done what is going to be asked of them in the NFL. Going back to when the Titans drafted Willis...I think that exposed some things the NFL could change. Let a team draft a guy like that but at least have a way they can stash him away so he doesnt count against the game day roster and is not exposed to other teams just cause you put him on the practice squad. Drafting him was not only dumb cause he sucked but there was literally no where to put him that allowed him to develop while at the same time hurting your team.
  8. true but you are aware of the concept of time? and how it affects humans?
  9. Levis and burkes for Henry? we'd probably have to throw in a high draft pic.
  10. tannehill could easily sign a contract...but I do find it odd that anyone would bet on him playing well after watching him last season. He is a back-up level QB and possibly a bridge guy. and that's not really knocking the guy...it's just what he is now. I said last off-season that Tannehill could very well be playing his last season once it was clear the Titans were not extending him...and got laughed at. Said I wouldn't be surprised if he retired unless some magical season happened...it didn't.
  11. of course they are 100% all in on Levis trying to be the guy.. it would be stupid not to be. but I also know that the coaches see what some of us see...he struggles at times with accuracy even on simple throws and he showed he could be careless with the ball also. the question isn't are they in on Levis its how long is the leash is. I feel like a lot of what Levis did good last year could have just as easily been bad...I could see him playing some bad stretches of football and is the team willing to stick thru that...I don't know and I hope he improves on his issues.
  12. I think its a bit of competition. I thought Rudolph played alright for the Steelers. i still think it's Levis job but not guaranteed
