I personally know multiple people that voted for Trump who aren't racists, sexists, extremists, white nationalists, etc.... most of them are single issue voters on things like taxes, to a person that can't stand Trump and his bullshit but have voted republican their entire lives. Its dangerous to assume all Trump voters are crazy Trumpers. We have to find middle ground with the sane ones or the dems will never gain control.

My uncle is a pastor in Jackson TN. About 80% of his church is black. He has done a ton in that community to help out the poor and impoverished. He is universally loved in that part of town. He voted for a Trump. I’ve never heard him say a racist word or even an underlying tone. I disagree with him wholeheartedly for voting for Trump, but that doesn’t mean I’ve lost respect for him as a good person.

Politics is a different animal, and it is tough to understand people’s reasoning. I think it’s a sad state of affairs though to say you will never again respect someone because of who they cast their vote for.

We are maddingly inconsistent and can look really deficient in several areas in any given game, but guess what; that's the story league wide. Undefeated Pittsburgh almost shits the bed at Dallas against their no. 4 QB, Seattle gets blown out in Buffalo. Tampa's D looks dominant one week and then Brees picks them apart the next. It's a momentum league and with Covid and injury decimated rosters, that's even more the case this year; once things start going wrong in a game, it's hard to turn it around. The lack of TC and meaningful practice is really showing; the secret is staying the course, sticking to what you do well and hope you can stay relatively injury and covid free and show some consistency down the stretch. This team is as capable as any of doing that.

We just bought a German Shepherd puppy a few weeks ago.  His name is Chase because my son has a thing for Paw Patrol and that is the name of the German Shepherd on there.  He insisted, and what can I say, dad is becoming a big softie as he gets older.

They are fantastic dogs.  I used to have a boxer named Tater who sat at the door next to my boots and cried every day for a year when I deployed.  He was so excited when I got home that he literally peed himself.  I know what you mean about a special dog.  That dog got me through some dark times and I miss him.

No it won't.  There's nothing that he can do that will hurt any shot at 2024.  His supporters will follow him no matter what he does.

Yes because of that Jacksonville game.  What it comes down to is the Titans can lose both the Ravens and Packers games and win the division if they win their other 5 games and the Colts lose just one other game.  They’ll win the tie-breaker in any situation in that case.

It would get trickier if the Titans lose the Jaguars or Texans games and the Colts sweep the Texans and beat the Jaguars in my above scenario.

Trying to stick with a glass half full approach here...

Even if we lose to the Ravens AND the Colts beat the Packers...we’d still be in position to take back 1st place with a win in Indy. The records would be tied, but we’d hold the tie breaker with a better division record.

Best case scenario is we beat the Ravens and the Colts lose to the Packers. Then we’re right back where we were before the Thursday night game in being able to take a comfortable 2-game lead over them.

Worst case is obviously if we lose both. Then we start hitting that point where we need a lot of other things to fall our way.

Basically...beat the Colts in Indy and we’re still in the driver’s seat for the division.

I also do question the defensive personnel in general.

I think it is a mediocre group for the most part outside of Simmons and Byard (who is having a down year). And Adoree is a good corner, but hasn't played.

We've overrated the linebackers as well. Pees made them look better than they are. Evans is good on the goal line, but otherwise he's mediocre.

We'll need to re-tool this group going into next season and make major investments there in the draft and free agency.

We were winning and on our way to 7-2 and then all of a sudden they find these points afterwards and they're all for one team. Colts offense didn't even score them. Not even real points, just points that show up when the Titans had the ball.

This is the greatest fraud in NFL history. For the purposes of the division title, I claim this win for Tennessee.

To Oilerman's point, the run first nonsense is hurting this team.  The first drive was great.  Up and down the field.  And then they just.....stopped.  It's like they feel like they need to run Derrick Henry a certain amount of times.  Why?  If it's working, why mess with it?

There really isn't much else to say about this game.  Things obviously snowballed after the shanked punt and blocked punt.  But this is the 4th straight game that I thought Tannehill was average.  I wonder how much of that is not having Lewan?  It's clear that they miss him.  Tannehill's likely rushing his throws and not doing as good a job as he did before Lewan's injury going through his reads.  And they likely have to help both tackles now which limits his options.

The Colts were the better team.  Hopefully the Titans can improve.  They'll need to because the AFC is a logjam right now.

Gotta disagree on Tannehill tonight (and I’ve been hard on him the last 2 weeks). After going back and looking at the drives, he was probably even better than I thought.

1st drive- Tannehill is 4 for 4 and it ends in a TD; glorious play calling and execution

2nd drive- Henry loses yards on 1st. Tannehill gets back 8 on the next play. False start Sambrailo. Then on 3rd and long he delivers a dime, would be TD to AJ who drops it.

3rd drive- Tanny converts a 3rd and 2 to keep the drive alive. Drive ends in a FG and Tanny only has 1 incompletion the whole drive.

4th drive- 2 incompletions on the whole drive for Tanny. Great throw to Davis on this drive for 18. Also helped by penalties and some great Henry runs. Drive ends in a TD.

So he had 4 drives in the first half for what should have been 24 points.

    3rd quarter...

5th drive- FOUR straight runs and then on 3rd and 1 they try the PA fake but the Colts don’t bite and he’s sacked. Punt.

Keep in mind this is AFTER the huge 4th and goal stop when we still have the lead and should be going for the jugular here.

6th drive- Titans are now trailing. Tannehill misses Jonnu here on 1st down in what was his biggest miss of the night. We do the obvious run in 2nd down for nothing and then the 3rd and long pass to Firkser is broken up.

That punt is the blocked TD. Now we’re down 10.

7th drive- Lot of Henry here. Tannehill also hits Smith and Batson on this drive. Henry gets 11 on 2nd and 10 but it’s called back with a hold. Then on 2nd and 18, Brown has his 2nd drop of the game. Nothing there on 3rd and long. Then Gostkowski misses the FG to bring us within one score.

Defense then let’s them score in 4 plays and it’s 34-17 with the game basically over.
