tgo got a reaction from titantim in WR2
The reality is that WR is one of the least important positions on our team given the offensive philosophy especially.

But yes, it is a weakness. And we have had weaknesses every year Robinson has been GM, whether it's corner or pass rush. Personally, I'd rather have WR as the weakness than OL/CB/OLB. They made a calculated tradeoff this offseason.

Let's not pretend like every team doesn't have a weakness.

What matters more for us is TE, right now that's the bigger weakness than WR and I'm guessing it will be addressed.

Well I'd imagine he was always the 3rd option behind Kupp and Woods in the 3 WR sets so unless you know the read progressions of McVay's plays, it's speculative on what he can and can't do.  I know from the clips we've seen of him, he's capable of beating good corners.

Of course, we're asking to replace a guy who had a goose egg in the playoff game against a good CB.....

You're free to look at this glass half empty but if the Titans truly felt that WR was so dire, they would have either kept Davis or would have been a lot more aggressive in adding other WR's either via trade, free agency, or the draft.  +

For sure. It’s just interesting in this context considering Hill torches people that run a 40 in that range all the time. I thought he was gonna be a top 3 pick this year going into the draft last year.

It is, I was reading about this before the draft.

Farley runs in the 4.2's at his size, he's a freak of nature.

I like Zierlein to a degree, but he's hardly gospel when it comes to prospects. People miss and get it wrong on prospects all the time. Some of these guys we'll look at and go wow how did he fall that far or how did he get drafted that high. Happens every year.

Fitz was drafted because he can also block well.

Reynolds has started games in the NFL and played outside receiver 68% of the time with the Rams.  This idea he can't beat a 2nd CB is overstated as he likely was lined up with the team's 2nd best CB plenty.

Fitzpatrick as a rookie - agree he's unproven but you can see skills there to work with.

This one makes sense to me as a late offseason add - can return punts.

Only issue is that he's a speed-reliant player coming back from an ACL.

Hey man, Brandon Jones was actually ok in the slot.

Roydell and Courtney Roby also were way better than Paul Williams haha, at least Roby was a good KR and Roydell went on to play for Washington for a year 😛. Paul Williams was a 100% total bust.

So now that the proper timeline came out on this, has everyone including PK moved on?

Out of that list, other than Julio, the name that interests me the most is James Washington. He's young, probably wouldn't cost as much in compensation, and had a little bit of dark horse hype in fantasy a year or two ago. Seems like he might be the odd man out with Juju back alongside Diontae Johnson and with Chase Claypool blowing up like he did last year.

@tgo What kind of dump can you take on this idea?

Every time I see this guy hit the ground awkwardly I cringe.  I think that will also be true watching him this season...

I'm just glad he's under contract for two years so that we don't have to franchise tag him next year.

I played against Golden Tate in middle school basketball. So that dude is old. Also, he could dunk at that age.

The comments from Vrabel make me think we're not pursuing a slot WR. I wouldn't expect Tate, Crowder, etc. Tate is old.

IMO Landry's problem is just not being able to convert speed to power. Really hard to win consistently as a pure speed rusher vs. NFL tackles. Having to play >1000 snaps in a season doesn't help either.
