  1. I was kinda looking forward to more draft picks leaving the AFC South though
  2. There is no market for Malik Willis. There’s a level of loyalty in Vrabel trying to develop Willis that I actually like, but Willis really doesn’t deserve it.
  3. There’s always posters who claim victory in March only to be whimpering in December, this year is no exception.
  4. Rudolph's career passer rating is better than Levis. In a much better situation, but let's not pretend Levis is without flaws.
  5. This is of course silly. And on a closer reading, Henry does have a $4.7m dead cap hit with the Titans which combined with his new money from the Ravens would put him over the top. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/derrick-henry-18994/ https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tennessee-titans/ryan-tannehill-9818/ But again, the market isn’t closed. The race is closer than one would think.
  6. An unsigned Ryan Tannehill already has a bigger 2024 cap hit than Derrick Henry. Derrick Henry is expected to have a cap hit of $8m and Ryan Tannehill still has a dead cap hit of $9.2m for the Titans. So in some senses, yes Tannehill has a bigger 2024 contract than Henry.
  7. pathetic on both their parts. go ahead! throw your brand away!
  8. My only question is - can he make it a few more years to the Jaguars?
  9. There’s a lot more that goes into building a team besides making the right picks. The right people need to believe those were the right picks as well. Bitching about ownership is all well and good but it’s part of the game. There’s also a thing about the wisdom of crowds. Yes, purchasing the total stock market index fund will over time outperform all other strategies. But front offices aren’t judged on overall performance - the expectations are about peak performance in a single year. So yes, coaches and GMs have a philosophy and try to find an advantage. Some times it works, sometimes it fails. It ain’t easy.
  10. Reminder: no one needs to be the poster of the day
  11. No, he’s playing like Josh Allen. 4 interceptions 9 fumbles in the playoffs https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleJo02.htm
  12. Oh come on Josh Allen is the king of the inopportune turnover. He ain’t it.
  13. Is there really no top 10 defenders this year, or has the game shifted?
  14. I’m a fan of the team too, but if they can’t deal with these kids taking care of themselves then I’m mad at the front office not the kid.
  15. I think you gotta take the side of the athletes. These kids invest so much into the game and for most the draft is their last payday. Let them do what they think they need to do to manage that negotiation. It doesn’t always work out for them, but that’s the nature of business.
  16. The better these WRs do, the more likely it is that the Titans have their choice of LTs
  17. I don’t want to see Byard with the Titans unless he’s coaching. Dude is a smart guy.
  18. I disagree that standardized information is important, at least to a team with solid scouting. Standardized information is for us fans, not the teams.
  19. A guy's "draft stock" is a media creation. I think the combine is a time when public perception catches up with reality. For well-run teams, I would think this is negative. From the team's pov you want there to be a disconnect between the public perception and reality of a player, and you want to exploit that difference via draft strategy.
  20. This is like a trade your older brother would setup while you left your account logged in.
  21. It was close. I like argument that Trent Williams was the real MVP of that Niners team. In the Super Bowl, Chris Jones showed up. The Niners real problem is that they keep missing on their franchise QB picks. Otherwise that team is stacked. Brock Purdy saved their bacon but he isn't it. Back to the topic, teams are who they draft. I think wide receivers are overvalued. Look at AJ Brown in Philadelphia. Two seasons ago he was the truth. Last season he's the scapegoat. Is that the heart of the team? What teams have been built around a first round WR?
  22. Sure, add Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey to the “close but no cigar” list. You need guys who can play the skill positions but whenever they are the core identity, the “good to great” results don’t seem to be there.
  23. When teams pick top 10 players, they are choosing the core of their team. Even with the rule changes, WR isn’t what you want the core of your team to be in the playoffs. The position doesn’t generally make an impact on every snap. Teams are built around QBs and line play (LT, pass rusher). Those guys consistently make plays happen on every snap. If the QBs and OTs are picked out, then sure getting an elite WR is fine. But I’d see it as making the most of the situation. And I’d expect the outcome to be exactly what you said - making Levis look good in the regular season, disappearing in the playoffs. Which incidentally is right where we were when Miss Amy started blowing up the team.
