There are plenty of Titans fans who feel OT in round 1 is the only path.

Dozens of them ESPN/NFLN have free alternate streams, the Pat McAfee/Bill Belichick stream will be free, those two I mentioned above will be free, PFF will also have a live one, think NBC Sports will have one as well.

There are going to be so many good alternate streams to the usual ESPN/NFLN coverage this year, two of my favourites will be the Athletic coverage with Brugler, Mays, Tice and then there is the Underdog Fantasy coverage with Norris, Winks, McCoy, Jay Gruden.

This is what I have said all along I want this regime to build the team the way they want and not be pigeon holed into decisions because there is a clear talent differential between options at different position groups.

What I expect is likely to happen later this week they will end up with an OT in round 1 and round 2 will be WR/EDGE or the wildcard Michigan LB Junior Colson.

Everyone is fully aware the consequences of passing on an OT in round 1 likely leads you down a path of a veteran bridge combined with a developmental guy drafted on day 2.

Whether its been Brinker/Callahan/Carthon they have all delivered the same message they are not going to bypass elite talent to draft purely for need with their premium draft picks.

What does that boil down to for this particular draft if there is a game changing elite WR still available at #7 that they have graded at a higher tier than any of the OT that is who they will take.

What is also true is it is highly unlikely the two guys (Harrison Jr/Nabers) that might garner such a grade won't be an option for the Titans, which is why in 3.5 days from now the overwhelming likelihood is they select their highest ranked OT at pick #7 (which I would be perfectly fine with but also pissed that the win against the Jags or Dolphins cost us a shot at Malik Nabers).

And a lot of them are going to go early there could easily be 8-9 gone before the Titans pick at #38 let alone how many of them will be gone before pick #106.

Not exactly the kind of description you should want to see for a player who many are campaigning to be potentially the 3rd or 4th non QB in this draft class.

Some medical red flags from Albert Breer today

    • Both of LSU’s star receivers, Brian Thomas Jr. and Malik Nabers, have issues with their left shoulders. The risk here is considered relatively minimal—in both cases, there’s a chance the player may have to have the shoulder surgically repaired after the 2024 season. Bryan Bresee, the Saints’ first-round pick last year, had a similar situation with his shoulder coming into the draft last year.

    • Washington OT Troy Fautanu’s knee was flagged. That one was described to me as the sort of issue that shouldn’t be a problem in the short term, but could wind up impacting his longevity in the pros (though his high football character is a factor in making teams feel like he’ll do all he can to take care of it, and give himself the best chance).

    • Georgia WR Ladd McConkey’s situation is similar to Penix in that he’s dealt with a mountain of injuries, and he’s not overly big (185 pounds). So the concern is how his body holds up with the hits coming from bigger, faster players in the NFL.

    • Penix is a big one because he’s had multiple ACL tears and multiple shoulder surgeries. Exacerbating the problem, in the eyes of teams, is that he’s not an overly big-framed person, meaning he might prove to be more susceptible to additional injuries in the NFL, especially with the hits he tends to take in the pocket. Conversely, he made it through his two seasons at Washington without missing time.

    • Latu’s neck condition is going to be a disqualifier for some, but not all teams. He was medically retired by the University of Washington, which forced his transfer to UCLA. You’ll remember that in 2018, Leighton Vander Esch came into the league with a neck condition. A really solid linebacker when he played, and the Cowboys’ first-round pick that year, Vander Esch missed significant time in four of his six seasons, and retired after being limited to just five games in 2023.

Baktiari is a ridiculous option given his durability issues.

I think most reasonable people are arguing in the unlikely scenario one of the elite WR is an option that signing Andrus Peat and drafting one of the OT in the 2nd round becomes a path which this team could follow.

Can't fix everything in one offseason the preference has to be to give an offensive minded head coach the tools he needs to run his offense (that includes both OL and WR).

Plus this years draft is heavily skewed towards offensive talent and next years group seems to have more on offer at EDGE.

You better include the new head coach in this so called WR fixation given his continued comments about when all things are equal his preference is for guys who score points over OL.

Two weeks ago Callahan also literally bemoaned the fact he currently doesn't have 3 WR that he trusts to run his 11 personnel 3 WR dominant offense.

Waiting till day 3 to draft WR has worked out so well for this franchise recently.

Just going through this right now he has Joe Alt going 5th to the Chargers.

    These are the Titans picks

    7. Tennessee Titans
    Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
Offensive tackle has been a common projection at this spot, and it's without question the weakest position on the Titans' roster. But Alt is off the board, and taking the best player available instead of reaching for a need makes sense. Tennessee signed Calvin Ridley to a four-year, $92 million deal, but DeAndre Hopkins is entering the final year of his contract. Odunze could make an immediate impact for QB Will Levis, making plays on vertical routes or over the middle.

    38. Tennessee Titans
    Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU
The board falls perfectly for the Titans here, as Suamataia -- who can play either left or right tackle -- is a great fit. Even though parts of his game are raw, his upside is immense. Offensive line coach Bill Callahan could turn him into a reliable starter.

    106. Tennessee Titans: Mohamed Kamara, EDGE, Colorado State

    146. Tennessee Titans (via MIN/PHI): Nehemiah Pritchett, CB, Auburn

    182. Tennessee Titans (reacquired via PHI): Erick All, TE, Iowa

    242. Tennessee Titans (via PHI): Marist Liufau, LB, Notre Dame

    252. Tennessee Titans (via KC): Nathan Thomas, OT, Louisiana Lafayette
