IsntLifeFunny
If we extend him then it needs to be a Kaepernick/Bortles style deal.
tgo
They should absolutely not extend him this coming offseason unless it's a short term 20-23 mil per year type deal. Edited November 5, 2018 by tgo

big2033
There's no way they let him walk. You all should've known this before the season even started. Unless he became Nate Peterman that was never going to happen. Getting lucky enough to have an average QB is just too hard. And being bad enough to draft high when QB talent is available is also all about timing. The risk is too big to start over. ap24786
Mariota is still a young QB who has shown a lot of flashes, albeit not too much recently. We're prisoners of the moment so of course most people think he won't be back next year but I think he's still a solid young QB who has the worst offensive personnel around him in the NFL outside the Bills. If he shows he can stay healthy the rest of the year and gives you solid production (something like the Chargers game) then I think it would be a good idea to extend him for less money guaranteed. The organization would have the leverage over him since his stats won't be good so I'm sure we could lock him up for 4yrs/$65 mil with $45 mil guaranteed. titanruss, and Gorillaesque
TheBukafax
As Eddie Vedder once said, She loved him, yeah She don't want to leave this way She feeds him, yeah That's why she'll be back again Can't find a better man Can't find a better man Can't find a better man Can't find a better....man
9 Nines
I think they might be looking at a large contract for Mariota because sources say Amy Strunk is lobbying the other owners to outlaw the forward pass.
