Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Antonio Brown was not present on Monday.

Tomlin refused to say if the absence was excused, but it did not sound as if it was. The coach added Brown has not requested a trade despite his, "Trade me let’s find out," tweet on Monday -- reading that tweet as a trade request was always a major stretch. The coach said he hopes to meet with Brown on Tuesday to discuss the situation the tweet. Despite all the drama, it would be shocking if Brown is not ready to face the Bucs on Monday night. Sep 18 - 12:17 PM

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Antonio Brown did not report for meetings and film review on Monday.

Ed Bouchette and Gerry Dulac temper the report by saying they are not sure if the absence was excused, but it is still notable considering it came a day after Brown got into it with coaches on the sideline. Brown also tweeted, "Trade me let’s find out," on Monday in response to a tweet from a former Steelers employee questioning how good he would be without Ben Roethlisberger. The most likely outcome here is Brown being at practice Wednesday and suiting up Monday night, but there is a lot of smoke suggesting Brown is not happy.

Responding to a tweet saying Ben Roethlisberger is the reason he puts up numbers, Antonio Brown wrote, "Trade me let’s find out."

The tweet came from someone who previously handled public relations for the Steelers, so Brown is not responding to anyone with any power. Still, his emphatic response is at least notable after he was seen bickering with the coaching staff multiple times during the Week 2 loss to the Chiefs. Pittsburgh is certainly not going to trade Brown, but it seems like the receiver is unhappy with how things are going early in the season.

Hahaha

Love it.

I hope their offensive line starts running their mouths about how they make less money than him.  That always works!  In my opinion, this stems from the Steelers front office and how they have handled Bell's situation.

A little bit of the inmates are taking over the assylum type of situation brewing up there.

Unless Mason Rudolph is a legit heir they may be on the cusp of a steep fall off. It may actually be a good thing for them to trade both Brown and Bell now while their stock can't get any/much higher because once Roethlisberger retires it's all about a youth revolution. It probably needs to be anyway. They have Brown's replacement already in place in Juju and James Conner has looked like a quality replacement for Bell, not to mention his character/personality is probably a fresh of breath air compared to Bell's. Conner seems like a much better fit for Pittsburgh. And all of this would be the perfect opportunity to get rid of Mike Epps to bring in some fresh blood.

Disclaimer: I am not saying the Steelers should trade Brown/Bell because I want the Titans to trade for one or both of them. They'd be too expensive and they are problem children. Although if I were going to want to trade for one of them it'd definitely be Brown. He'll probably play longer and would bring an enormous and immediate impact on the receiving corps. Corey Davis already has a ton of potential, but Brown coming in to take focus off of him would be a wet dream cum true.

We all know its mostly because of the losing.

So if he wants to win, maybe he should give back some of his 17 per so they can sign the best part of that offense.

Their issue is on defense. Bell would not have won the KC game for them. Not sure how Bell prevents an offense from putting up 21 points on them in the first quarter.

Well, a back could help stop that by making defenders miss and picking up key 3rd downs that would have otherwise been 4th downs, keeping the opposing offense off the field. May not apply to the KC game exactly but a offensive star can change a game just by moving the chains.

Ball control....

How did the Titans upset Mannings Colts at times when they were so good?

A good running game keeps your D off the field.

They lost their second best WR and 1st or second best RB in the game. That hurts the entire team.

That’s also assuming Bell comes out and has success running the ball. He’s a great RB but he has had many dud games running the ball. Steelers would be fools to pay leveon what he is asking.

This is just an idiotic statement. How many dud games has he had compared to great ones?

Bell averages 1500+ yards a year. 1000+ rushing and 500+ receiving. And you think it's fair to even question whether he'd have good games or not...geez

Brown has had dud games too. Were they fools to pay him 17 a year?

But they're struggling to give Bell 15 a year?

Makes a lot of sense.

First two games of the season. 0-1-1

Brown - 18 catches on 33 targets. 160 yards and 1 TD.

Thats with Ben having already thrown over 100 attempts in 2 games.

Brown has gotten a third of the targets and hasn't done shit with it.

So he is averaging 80 yards and .5 TDs a game so far. Is that worth 17 per year?

And he is crying like a bitch on top of it.

Bell would be averaging 80 yards just on the ground, easy, and probably have about 10 catches himself by now.

Their time of possession would be higher and they'd probably have at least one win.

Watch how teams fight over Bell next year....watch.

He’s great as an individual but a rookie contract RB can produce and help get as many wins as they can with lev. Just because he is great doesn’t mean he is going to produce every single game. James Connor is averaging 126 total yards a game through his two starts. How much better would lev be doing?

my argument isn’t to pay AB. If they feel juju  and Washington are the next great Steeler they will dump him just like they did all the other star WRs they’ve had. Steelers have proven they aren’t afraid to let star players go because they have repeatedly produced stars to replace them.

And he had 17 just last week. Lmao, yea Bell would be doing better than that. If they had a RB with Bells caliber, they might not have got down by 21 to begin with...and once they tied it up, they might have gotten back to the run.

Conner ran 8 times for 17 yards last week. You're right,  no way would Bell have done better.

And week 1 they played 5 damn quarters while being up 14 for about 2 of those qaurters.

But they have already paid him. And they aren't dumping him til that contract is up.

Check levs numbers last year when he held out all offseason.

There is no reason to dump him. They get nothing if they do that. He will report by week 10 and then they pay him or let him walk while getting a 3rd round comp.
